Our employer was provided with a link by the host for us to give a review. We are contractors from the south of England. We’ve been in this accommodation since last year. The flat is an ideal base for us with ample car parking. It provides basic accommodation for workers including one television set, dishwasher, washer/dryer, bathroom [no shower] and en-suite with shower cubicle. Two bedrooms, one with small double bed and the other with 2 singles that zip together as a super king.
Before doing the review, we had a look at other reviews on booking.com. There were a few negative comments including: outside door/buzzer entry not secure. the lights over the hob not working, smell in the main bathroom, noisy location right next to a car mechanics, noisy neighbours above.
Afraid, all these issues are still current. The entry door bangs loudly every time someone comes in/goes out. There is a foul smell in both bathrooms, the smell goes into the bedroom if the en-suite door is not shut. It’s not a constant smell, you get it every few days or so. It appears to be a building issue rather than the apartment, other neighbours have mentioned the smell. Just bring plenty of bleach.
Furnishings are a bit tired but practical. The hall carpet could do with replacing, ingrained stains. Overall, a reasonable apartment for workers, good Wi-Fi, good parking and shops like Aldi within walking distance. Would look for something more modern for a holiday with the family and not in an industrial area. However comfortable and practical enough for me and my work colleague and we would return [although we wouldn’t say no to an upgrade!). Just as an added footnote, building work [housing construction] is taking place directly behind the apartment, approx. 4 to 5 metres from the kitchen and bedroom windows. This will be continuing into 2023.
* Re question below. Haven't recommended as a holiday rental to a friend but would recommend the apartment for contractors / workers.
