Its south facing aspect makes it a sun-trap and a most relaxing place to sit and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding enclosed gardens, the open countryside and the Eildon Hills. The cottage, which is pet friendly and welcomes up to two well behaved dogs, features beamed ceilings in all the main rooms and has been equipped and furnished to a very high standard to ensure guests enjoy a home from home. Stable cottage is delightful. Its pretty, very well furnished and appointed with everything one might need, spacious, and comfortable. There's a vast lawn for dogs to run and people to stroll. The owners are friendly and helpful. This cottage is just outside Melrose, Scottish Borders....More

Thank you to Claire and Donald for their welcome. The cottage is decorated and furnished to a high standard and the garden is a sheltered sun-trap. Melrose has everything you need and is a good centre for exploring the Borders.

About the neighbourhood
Melrose has an excellent range of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. It has historic 10th century abbey and is the bustling tourist centre of The Scottish Borders. The town which is the birthplace of Rugby Seven is also a former winner of the 'Scotland in Bloom' competition. It is nestled at the foot of the Eildon Hills on the river Tweed. It offers excellent walking, golf and fishing. The town and the area abound with a rich cultural heritage of historic houses and splendid gardens. Melrose is rightly known as 'The Gem of Scotland'.
Getting around
Good local bus services only 300 metres from the cottage. Direct train service to Edinburgh from Tweedbank station which is less than 1 mile away. Service twice an hour.
