Mosspaul in summer
The comfortable sitting room at Mosspaul sits between the bar and the veranda.
The Bar!  All pumps and optics are functional and the owners can order in for you on request.
Casual dining for 10.  The games room can be set up for 28 diners.
Table tennis, darts, giant Wii, cinema and music in the games room.
The cinema seats up to 28 people comfortably for mealtimes
Why not hire our poker table for a quiet night in with a difference.

About the neighbourhood
Mosspaul is set on the high point between the Teviot Valley to the west and the Ewes Valley to the East. We are 10 miles from Langholm and 13 miles from Hawick in an area of peaceful and thriving farm and moorland just by the source of the river Teviot. There are many walks right on the doorstep, and you can attempt the three Mosspaul Marilyns direct from the hotel without having to step into a car. Within easy reach by car are walking for all abilities, off road cycling at both 7 Stanes and Craik Forrest, and outdoor pursuits at Rock UK. If you are more interested in history, both Hawick and Langholm have museums and Hermitage Castle, Bowhill and Abbotsford, to name a few, are all within easy reach.
Getting around
Mosspaul is on the X95 bus route that runs between Edinburgh and Carlisle. The bus can also take you into Langholm and Hawick from Mosspaul. The nearest railway station is Carlisle and the nearest commercial airport is Edinburgh.

Mosspaul is on the A7 between Hawick and Langholm on the edge of the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway. From Carlisle, take the A7 north. Mosspaul is 10 miles beyond Langholm on the left. From Edinburgh, take the A7 south and go through Hawick. Mosspaul is 12 miles further south on the right. It is also reachable on the X95 bus. Mosspaul is a scheduled stop.
