Mill Cottage Downpatrick, set in a 200 acre conservation farm is a perfect location for a peaceful relaxing holiday. Surrounded by rolling countryside it is rich in bird life and the large garden and sheltered patio area is a wonderful sun trap.It is part of the 370 year old Tobermoney Mill Village which also includes the Miller's barn.It is relaxing and peaceful and has great views of the rolling county Down countryside. Mill cottage is the ultimate Irish getaway The accommodation was faltless and the 1/4 acre of mowed yard was perfect for our daughter and her cousins to cart wheel all day long I cannot recommend it highly enough

I stayed in the cottage with my wife and 2 young grandchildren. The range in the kitchen meant their was always a cosy place to sit with the kids. The large garden is securely enclosed so the kids were able to run about safely all...More

Mill Cottage, part of Tobermoney Mill Village dating back to 1650 was sensitively restored in 2004 with reclaimed materials including beautifully restored wooden flooring from the Guinness brewery at St James gate Dublin.It is a large cottage which is built from local field stone and lime mortar and is full of original features including Georgian sash windows and deep window sills, stone kitchen floor and a spinning wheel mirror. Follow the signs from Belfast to Newcastle A24 until Carryduff. At the roundabout take the left lane onto the A7 to Saintfield, then on to Crossgar and straight on to Downpatrick.
On approaching the town turn right and travel straight on until you can see and follow the signs to Ardglass (B1)

Directions from Dublin (88 miles)
Follow the signs to Belfast until the Newry turnoff. Take the B8 to Hilltown, then Kilcoo. Take the A25 to Castlewellan, Clough, and on to Downpatrick.

On entering the town turn right onto St. Patrick's avenue. Turn right at the traffic lights and follow the signs to Ardglass (B1).
