About the neighbourhood
Ballycastle is right at the heart of the Causeway Coast and Glens, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, the castles of Kinbane and Dunluce, Bushmills Distillery, Dive centre and Sea safari, Mussenden Temple and three of the nine Glens are all within 10 miles. The town is mid-way along the Causeway Coastal Route which has been included in the world's top ten most spectacular drives making it the perfect base to explore the area.Just 6 miles from the mainland lies Rathlin Island. Ferries leave regularly from Ballycastle Marina for the 20 minute crossing. A paradise for walkers, nature lovers and ornithologists, the island boasts internationally important flora and fauna and is home to puffins, seals, and the largest seabird colon...
How to get there
A car is advised to get the most from exploring the area but is not essential as Ballycastle and the North Coast are well served with buses and the house is in a good location within a short walk of the bus stop and all amenities.Passengers travelling from Dublin, Belfast or Derry have a choice of bus or train. A couple of changes are required as there is no direct route. If driving from Larne or Belfast the coastal route is recommended on a clear day as the views are spectacular. The journey takes around 20 minutes longer than the inland route.
