About the neighbourhood
We are just over a mile from Caernarfon which has a reasonable choice of local shops and several large supermarkets with a small local market on Saturdays.

When crossing the swing bridge behind the castle there is an enjoyable coastal walk or if going up the steps on the far side of the bridge this takes you up to a large park with a variety of activities for all ages.

If dining out in Caernarfon a taxi into town costs about £5. Our preferred venues are BLACK BULL (pub/restaurant); OUZO & OLIVE (Greek) or FU's (Chinese). In peak season best to book in advance.
Getting around
There is a bus route which runs past Glan Gwna holiday park.

The nearest mainline station is at Bangor.

For steam train enthusiasts the nearest stations are at Caernarfon and Waunfawr for the Welsh Highland railway.

There is also a lakeside railway at Padarn Lake in Llanberris or for the more adventurous there is the Snowdon Mountain railway which also sets off from Llanberris (in main season pre-booking is essential).
