Wheelwright Cottage is a pretty, warm, snug and self contained cottage attached to 1 West Dean, right in the centre of the village of West Dean. West Dean lies on the Hampshire/ Wiltshire border. The cities of Winchester, Southampton and Salisbury lie within a 20 mile radius of West Dean. Stonehenge World Heritage Site is approximately 18 miles away and Lyndhurst in the New Forest approximately 14 miles to the south. West Dean has been awarded the 'Best Kept Small Village in Wiltshire' by the Council for the Protection of Rural England. The River Dunn flows through the centre of the village. There are many local walks; for cyclists, the village is on national cycle route 24; and there is fishing further downstream on the River Dunn and the nearby River Test. I booked this cottage for my wife whilst I was having surgery in New Hall Hospital. The cottage was wonderful and perfect for our needs. Very clean and well maintained with everything you could need plus some lovely extras including freshly baked muffins,juice and milk....More

We had a lovely three night stay here. I had a couple of reservations beforehand. Namely that we were staying in the owner's backyard/garden and that it might have been a little too remote. But Patricia made us feel welome on arrival and then left...More

A fabulous little self contained flat /cottage. Exceptionally clean and well equipped. Great ensuite and little kitchen with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Under floor heating a big plus too.

There are many places of interest to visit nearby including Mottisfont Abbey (National Trust) and it's world famous rose garden, Broadlands House (home of Lord Mountbatten), Hilliers Arboretum, Romsey Abbey, Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge, The New Forest.
