Somerset, England
Len’s Hut has been completely hand built, here on their farm in Somerset by local craftsmen.
Located in a south facing hay field, perched high up on the Mendip hills, nestling below Maesbury castle, it probably has one of the highest viewpoints in Somerset.

With staggering views of the surrounding green countryside, including of course Glastonbury Tor, the Somerset levels, Black Down Hills and the Quantock hills in the far distance.

This has to be a natural way to explore and enjoy this fabulous area all year round, you could ramble down the many foot paths, or visit Wells the smallest cathedral city in England, walk up Glastonbury Tor or you can just laze in your hut all day, the peace of it all will soak right into you.

Furnished to the finest standard, the decor of soft lines and enamel kitchenware casts you back into a simpler tim...

We enjoyed a wonderful two night stay in the Shepherd Hut (Len). The hut has been beautifully built and furnished and is a fantastic, peaceful location. Everything we needed was in the hut and the owners were very friendly. We will definitely be visiting again!

About the neighbourhood
Location, location, location

First of all, it’s a pretty special spot. Here you find, the unique, individual one and only Len’s Hut, surrounded by gorgeous green hay field with a small cider apple orchard behind the hut, just below one of the highest points on the Mendip Hills, facing south with stunning views across the unique landscape of the Somerset Levels, Glastonbury Tor and the distant Quantock Hills. Glorious isolation, but near your car if required, and 100 yards from the former farm house and farm buildings. Local attractions include Wells (England’s smallest cathedral city), Glastonbury (England’s hippiest town), Wookey Hole Caves and Cheddar Gorge, plus some great walking and cycling country with a wealth of quirky pubs and eateries
