About the neighbourhood
Peaceful location in the conservation area of Heslington village on South side of city. Superb leisure facilities nearby, including gym, cycle track, velodrome and swimming pool, and only 500m from Fulford Golf Club (consistently ranked in top 100 English courses). A few minutes walk away in the main village there is a shop serving general foodstuffs, deli counter, filled sandwiches and rolls. There is also a Post Office selling stationary, newspapers etc.. There are two convenience stores 5 minutes walk away on the main University campus that are open everyday including Sundays during term time. There is another convenience store about 15 minutes walk away on the East campus that is open everyday until 10pm all year round.
Getting around
A 10-15 minute taxi/bus ride to the city centre (buses every 10 mins plus night bus). Short walk to village pubs, shops and cashpoint. An excellent base from which to explore the countryside and coast of North Yorkshire by car.
