Fantastic family home with a contemporary & modern feel. Everything has been done to the highest standards, from the newly refurbed bathrooms to the bedrooms with vintage beds and the modern kitchen. The best thing about this space is it's large, bright and spacious and all newly refurbed to the highest specification. It's my second big refurb project and I'm delighted with the result. The space is colourful, fresh and modern, very comfortable and it's got everything that you'd need as both a guest, tourist or home owner. So a little bit about the space: I've an avid cook so the kitchen and entertaining space are most important. The kitchen can easily seat up to 10 people, we've got 4 extra chairs if required and my latest treat to myself (or you) is the wine fridge. You have ample fridge and freezer space in the kitchen plus all 'must haves' you'll need to put a great meal together excluding the primary ingredients...(we've catered for your oils / vinegars / herbs / spices and many more basics that you generally need in a kitchen). The kitchen space is huge and have a great skylight positioned over the dining table, not to mention to double doors leading to the garden - it's a bright, happy and large space... All 6 bedrooms have been put together with a theme in mind... so you've got a 'Vintage Vogue' and 'Shabby Chic' theme on the ground floor plus a large bathroom, on the first floor you've got 'Maison Blue', 'Ruby Rogue' and 'The Green Room' - again with a shared bathroom and our pieces de resistance is 'The Loft' with en suite, large living space and walk-in wardrobe (which can double as a kids room). All beds have been lovingly sourced from auctions and mattresses are brand new, either orthopaedic or a mixture of orthopaedic on one side and memory foam on the other. I love my bed - so a good nights sleep is most important! There's 4 king size beds in the place, 2 doubles and the ability to have 2 extra singles if required. The garden is a sun trap and is simply lovely to relax in during the day or evening and you are only 2 minutes from the parks if you fancy a jog, a visit to the playground or a trip to the local cafe.... Guest Access You will have access to the entire house - which includes 6 bedrooms (including 4 king size beds), 3 modern bathrooms with power showers, a modern and fresh kitchen with huge entertaining space and access to the garden from the kitchen. All of the rooms have been put together with love, each bedroom has it's own name ranging from Vintage Vogue and Ruby Royal to Maison Blanc and Shabby Chic. The house have been put together with our guests in mind, all your needs will be catered for and we'll ensure you start each day with an amazing and tasty breakfast. Interaction with Guests We love to meet our guests but also like you to be self-sufficient. Key pick-up can be as easy as accessing the key yourself from a security box outside or where possible, we can meet you and even collect you from the tube. The Neighbourhood SHOPPING: - Most tourists love Wood Green High Street as it's 5 minutes from our house and has all the high street stores including Primark, Next, TK MAXX. River Island, H&M, Marks & Spencers etc etc. - For boutique shopping I recommend Crouch End, either 20 minutes walk or take the 41 bus. This is where all the media type & artists live and there are some fabulous and reasonable shops to find real bargains. PARKS: There are many parks near here. Finsbury Park is our favourite. There's also Brentpark, Clissold Park, Hampstead Heath or Highgate. We also have 3 bikes which you could borrow if you fancy taking on the London traffic. (It's the best way to get to know London and both myself & my husband cycle regularly so would recommend it!) CINEMA: There are 2 cinema's 5 minutes from the house. It's cheap cinema night on a Monday so you can watch the latest movies for less than £5. EATING: Indian – The Jashan - 19 Turnpike Street, London N8 0EP - (phone number hidden) European Food – Mosaica The Chocolate Factory Unit C005 The Chocolate Factory Clarendon Rd, London N22 6XJ - (phone number hidden) Turkish – our favourite restaurant is Gökyüzü & Kervan Restaurant - (website hidden) - 183 High Road, Wood Green, London, Greater London, N22 6BA. It's cheap and cheerful and buzzing every night! Pizza – Tops Pizza deliver and are good. 274 Philip Ln London (phone number hidden) Italian – La Porchetta – this is our favourite Italian – in Finsbury Park - 147 Stroud Green Rd London - (phone number hidden). It's also VERY cheap. About the neighbourhood
The borough is called Haringey and it's situated in north London. This is a very cosmopolitan area with lots of greek & turkish shops along with many restaurants & bars. It's very much 'up and coming' at the moment with the high street changing regularly with a new bar, restaurant or shop opening. We are 10 - 15 minutes by train or tube from Central London. The nearest tube station is TurnPike Lane on the Piccadilly Line.
How to get there
We are easily accessed for any London airport: Heathrow - via tube direct to Turnpike Lane Stansted - via train to Tottenham Hale and then either a bus or a taxi - taxi would cost max £6 Luton - via train to King Cross St Pancras and then tube to Turnpike Lane City Airport - train to Tottenham Hale and then either a bus or a taxi. We are maximum 10 minutes walk from the tube station
