London Calling

1 of 23
Condo/Apartment -
2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 5
London, England
This is sixties retro living, eight floors up, quiet, but not completely insulated to the city pulse below. The view is the big wow, but the clean, light lines of this space were designed with peace of mind in mind. It's a place to relax and plan your next outing. London Calling isn't huge but the outlook is vast and you will never feel cramped. The two bedrooms sleep four in two very comfortable king-size beds, with the possibility of a single truckle bed for an extra child in one of the bedrooms.

About the neighbourhood
Battersea has always been an important cultural area in London. It is one of the oldest crossing points on the River Thames. Saxon shields have been found by Battersea Bridge. It was one of the first industrial sites in the world, had the first aeroplane factory, hosted the first modern football match. Now it's a rewarding mix of residential, academic and commercial. Battersea Square is leafy and pretty, with Gordon Ramsay's London House restaurant and pasvermernt cafes. There's a bar venue nearby, the Quecumbre, specialising in French chanson and Django jazz. By the bridge there's one of Prince Harry's favourite watering holes, the Bunga-Bunga bar, and the Doodle Bar, where students from the Royal College of Art nearby draw in chalk on the walls. How to get there
Public transport is cheap, fast and efficient in London. I supply best directions from any London airport. Heathrow is just over an hour away by public transport. London Calling is on several bus routes, to Kensington, Knightsbridge and Victoria and also to Piccadilly circus and Oxford Street. Buses run every six minutes or so and all through the night. Clapham Junction overground station, with access to Brighton and the south of England, is 20 minutes' walk or a ten minutes' bus ride away. There is no official car parking space but there are still two streets in the neighbourhood with no parking restrictions.
