The Space Welcome to my home located in East London and close to the financial district of London. This lovely bright 1 bedroom apartment is a great base for exploring the capital and especially East London - the hipster centre, close to the start-up scene. The flat is located on the top floor of a charming building only 5 minutes walk from Whitechapel tube station. Trains from here will take you to Kings Cross in 15 minutes. The flat has amazing views looking out over the smoking chimneys of old London, contrasting with the shiny new high rises of the 'City of London' (the financial district). The exposed brick wall gives the flat a warehouse loft feel. The living room is open plan. It has a sofabed that opens into a full double bed (140 cms width). There is a dining table that seats four people. The kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons and you are welcome to use the condiments there. The bedroom has a real double bed and super comfy duvets and pillows. Clean luxury sheets are provided for each guests. Towels, shampoo and shower gel are all stocked up in the bathroom. Other extras include:- fast wifi - TV - Altec Lansing speakers- washer/dry - iron, ironing board- a hairdryer. If you need anything extra please do not hesitate to ask. Guest Access The entire apartment is available for the guests. Interaction with Guests Me and my family will look after the guests. If we are not available, Hostmaker will look after you. The Neighbourhood The flat is located in the multicultural and vibrant area of East London. Whitechapel is the closest tube station. From here you can easily get to Moorgate and Liverpool Street if you are working in the City. If you are in London for play rather than work then there is lots you can do in this area. Visit the famous Whitechapel Gallery for its modernist exhibitions. Walk to Brick Lane and Spittalfields Markets and hunt for bargains on clothes and home decor items. You can get some delicious food on the way. There are some amazing cafes and restaurants close by. One of London's institutions - Tayyabs (serving amazing curry) is unmissable. You can walk over with your own tipple for the best kebabs and daal. I would also highly recommend Warehouse restaurant on Commercial Road. In fact there are lots of nice restaurants on that road where you can sample cuisines from all over the world. You can either walk to Shoreditch from here or hop on the Overground and get there in one stop. Shoreditch is the hub of all things cool and trendy these days in London. Explore Box Park and Redchurch Street and eat at Dishoom! If you want to explore some of the more touristic sights then hop on the District line at Whitechapel station and you will reach Westminster in 15 minutes (for Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Parliament). Check out the most famous diamond in the world, the Koh-i-Noor at the Tower of London which is only 15 mins from the flat. Getting Around Whitechapel station is a 5 minute walk with Underground and Overground services. You can get the Hammersmith & City and the District Lines. Shadwell station is a 10 minute walk with Overground and DLR services. There are several bus stops within a few minutes walk on both Whitechapel Rd and Commercial Rd, connecting into the city and central London.
