If you have ever fancied trying camping but don't own a tent or just would like to have a very different holiday experience our pod could be for you. Set next to our birdwatching hide you can have a secluded stay on our site, the pod is situated next to our camping and caravan club certificated small camp site, there is a safari tent set up on decking opposite but the pod is sited at an angle so passers by can not see in for privacy, the hide is open to the public and our guests, people will pass by but not intrusive to guests staying in the pod. In July 2017 we completed our new purpose built shower block, it is fully underfloor heated and has mens and ladies showers and toilets and a disabled / family toilet. There is a dish washing up area and fridge to store food in. In July 2017 we completed our new purpose built shower block, it is fully underfloor heated and has mens and ladies showers and toilets and a disabled / family toilet. There is a dish washing up area and fridge to store food in. This is opposite the pod, not even 30 seconds walk away. Included in the pod is a fully carpeted floor, heating from a oil fired radiator, electric lighting, futon style foam chair beds, sockets and blackout curtains on door and window. You can relax outside on the decking area or on our picnic bench and have toasted marshmallows over the fire pit, we have wood available to buy on site. Free parking is next to the pod so not to far to walk with your things. You bring everything as if you were camping except the tent, we have toilet, shower and other facilities close to the pod. Cooking facilities are the same as camping, you can use a portable BBQ as long as you use safety precautions and no BBQ are allowed inside the camping pod, We have a on site games room with a pool table, darts board, table football and computer console. The Pod can comfortably sleep 2 adults and 2 small children, or 3 adults. We have a local walks guide available written by a local footpath group, with walks straight from the door described with maps. Our location is rural and we do recommend guests have access to a car while staying, the nearest bus stop is 2 miles from us or we can advise local reliable taxi firms.

A lovely simple stay in the lakes
The little pod was everything we needed for our week away in the lakes! The showers facilities were excellent - we both discussed how they were the best we’ve seen at a camping site, and most hostels we’ve stayed at for that matter! Always very clean and we never experienced queues. A great “outdoor kitchen” set up with a picnic bench, a fire pit and a metal table to balance our cooking stove on. The pod itself was very cosy, especially when it was howling with wind and rain outside (classic lakes) we found it very difficult to get up out of bed in the morning. A perfect place to stay, and a great price too! Thank you Marion x

Excellent
Thank you for accommodating us overnight in your lovely pod. Great location and hosts. Pod was comfortable, roamy and warm even when the weather outside was wet and stormy! Toilet area was lovely, nice touch having the leaflets and access to a fridge, unfortunly didn't get to sample the games room or the owls on site as it was such a short stay but hopefully our next one will be longer. Will reccommend and return again. Thank you very much.

Peaceful new year
Had an amazing 3 night/4 day stay at the lake side yurt on this beautiful farm with an array of diffent and interesting areas to explore... My wife absolutely loved the pigmy goats and pony's... I enjoyed the owls and chickens... Only a short drive from Cockermouth and Keswick... Give it a try and you will not be disappointed

Can't be better then this..
Best ever place I ever stayed in. You have everything you need to spend the best time. Clean and comfortable. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is bad communication. Not get reply of most of the questions. Answered after ten days. Except it Brilliant!!!

Great tent alternative
My partner dog and I have just spent 4 days in this pod and found it was perfect for our needs. It was clean and more spacious than we expected. My other half could stand up which he much preferred to our tent. We were impressed with the facilities and location. You do need to drive to get to the best walks and any pubs/shops but this wasn't a problem for us. There is a bench, a storage cupboard for cooking utensils and use of a fridge. There is even a pen provided to write your name on your food! Our host Marion was absolutely lovely and went above and beyond to help us do during our stay. Highly recommended x

Pod life
Lovely pod, stunning scenery. Cosy and surprisingly warm thanks to the little heater. Great for kids and very clean/excellent facilities. Only negative thing is there is no path from the car area to the pod or the toilet block to the pod and so therefore shoes and pod got rather soggy and muddy from very wet muddy grass. Apart from that would highly recommend this pod/campsite to family and friends.

Brilliant little get away
Brilliant little night away! Very cosy and nice. Take games and things to do as there's not much around but that is the beauty of it.

How to get there
Full arrival details and directions are sent on booking, we are not hard to find but sat nav will not bring you here. We feel we are not suitable to stay if you do not have access to transport, we are rural, there are many local taxi companies but this would add an expense to your break. We are not on a bus route. Our nearest town Cockermouth is a 5 mile walk along country roads.
