About the neighbourhood
As the Cuckoo's nest is in the centre of Ambleside you will find that all the attractions of our wonderful town are right on your doorstep. There are many top class restaurants here, daytime cafes and eateries. The cinema is just a walk across the road with all the latest films.
A 15-20 minute walk in either direction will bring you to the Windermere or Rydal water. Windermere has plenty of activities, to keep you busy. Rydal water has more to allow you to relax and enjoy the calm & peace.
The town is surrounded by walks, taking you along or around water, or up the fells.
Not far away are some of the homes of William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter, Samuel Coleridge, Dequincey & John Ruskin.
So much to do, will you have enough time to do?
Getting around
