Tetbury, Cotswolds, England
Peter's Nest is a favourite cottage for honeymooners and couples--especially for walkers, solitary romantics and those with dogs!
This Cotswold stone cottage tucked away in the woods is the perfect 'love nest' for two, Virgilian in bucolic peace and sweet sylvan scenery.

In a clearing below Peter's Nest Wood known mysteriously as 'Hell's Throat', hard by a woodland spring, is this little self-contained cottage, by Woodwells farmstead, marked on an 1847 map.

Downstairs we enter through the kitchen, which leads into the living room with comfortable dining and sitting areas, and a cosy wood-burning stove. The bathroom, with bath and overbath shower, is adjacent. The cottage is heated by storage heaters.

Upstairs is the small double attic bedroom (with very low, sloping ceilings under the eaves) with queen-si...

About the neighbourhood
The Owlpen valley has long been recognised as one of the most romantic places in England. Today it provides guests with an exclusive and relaxing hideaway surrounded by private woods and hills and many miles of walks--from a gentle stroll round the estate trails to a 20 mile trek along the Cotswold Way.

There is a pub, village shop/ post office, micro-brewery and Prema arts centre in the nearby Cotswold village of Uley.
Boutiques and antique shops—some by Royal Appointment--are in Tetbury; supermarkets in the market towns of Nailsworth and Dursley.

Golf, gliding, riding within three miles.

But many visitors never leave the peace and privacy of the Owlpen estate, with its miles of footpaths and 800-years of history.

The M5 Junctions 13 (north) and 14 (south) are a few minutes west of Owlpen: head for the B4066.
The M4 is 12 miles south. Exit at Junction 18 and follow the A46 north in the direction of Stroud as far as the crossroads with the A4135. Then go west towards Dursley, turning second right after the Hunters' Hall pub in Kingscote down to village of Uley on B4066.
