Condo/Apartment
With three enormous bay windows from which to gaze upon the Atlantic, this middle apartment feels like a giant turret-room, surrounding you with stunning vistas of the sea at every turn. With panoramic town sea and coastal views, Huer's Watch is aptly named after the traditional town huer, whose role was to watch out to sea for tell-tale signs of pilchard shoals and alert the townsfolk of their arrival. Beautifully presented, the whole apartment exudes comfort, warmth and homeliness. The lounge/ diner has three huge windows providing extraordinary views and an overwhelming impression you are suspended above the very sea itself. With the property commanding such an enviable corner location, you might even get the chance the watch the sun rise and set without even leaving the room. In fact, with comfy Tetrad sofas, including a double sofa bed, dining table, and gas-powered wood burning stove to compliment the period feel of exposed granite walling, you may never have to. In the bedroom, the king-size bed and a floor-to-ceiling bay window might just lure you away from the hypnotic scenes of the living room. As with all the apartments, the bedroom is finished with subtle, personal touches that make this feel like it's your home, not just a place to rest your head. Entering the well-equipped oak and polished granite kitchen with its Belfast sink and view down over St Ives and the harbour would encourage even the most reluctant cook to tie on an apron and pick up one of the Rick Stein cook books off the shelf. The very large bathroom continues to impress, recently refitted to a very high standard, it's as quirky as it is quality. In the end, you can't help thinking, just like everything about these apartments… 'it's all just so very Pednolver'. A spacious and comfortable apartment with generously sized rooms and an amazing view of St. Ives and the ocean. We were greeted with an arrangement of locally made treats including scones, shortbreads, clotted cream, jam, toffees, in addition to ground coffee, and milk. The interior...More

Thankyou for your very kind comments about Apartment 3 and of course about StIves. I like the fact that it (StIves) is very dogfriendly and people don't often comment on that so it is good when they do. I forgot to leave the doggy snacks...More

About the neighbourhood
On 14th July 2007, The Guardian newspaper named the Cornish culture capital, St Ives, as its seaside town of the year. A star-studded panel of judges, including Bill Bryson, Rick Stein and John Betjeman's daughter, Candida Lycett Green, came to the decision after debating the pros and cons of 12 short-listed coastal towns and cities from across Britain and Ireland. Stein, known worldwide as the patron of Padstow but who has been going to St Ives since his childhood, was one of many keen advocates of the town. 'The thing I really love about St Ives is that it is on two beaches, so you get two aspects of the ocean, which makes it very romantic and quite unusual for a British resort. I think of it as the big brother of Padstow.' St Ives also scored heavily for its rugged views, exhilara...
How to get there
By Car: The main A30 runs from Exeter to Penzance. At Lelant just west of Hayle take the A3074 to St. Ives. Immediately after Carbis Bay watch for the Tregenna Castle signs on the left hand side. Just past the entrance to the Tregenna Castle Hotel on the left there is a fork in the road, take the left hand fork (signposted to the Leisure centre). After approx 300 metres there is a sharp bend to the left which is steeply inclined. Go around this bend and take the second right signposted SeaView Terrace and go to the end of the road and Pednolver Apartments car park is on your right behind the yellow security posts. Please note, Pednolver Terrace does not appear on maps, if using sat/nav look for SeaView Terrace. By Train: Regular Intercity Services running to Penzance stop at St. Ert...
