This is a comfortable three bedroomed terraced house in a quiet city-centre location within a short walk from the Cathedral, museums, restaurants, shops and Oliver Cromwell's house. The property is warm, light and airy, having been completely refurbished by a highly respected local building firm and renovated to modern standards. The Railway station 15 mins walk, providing fast trains to Cambridge, Stansted and London. Trains to London take just over an hour. We used the property as a family home at the weekends during the five years that our son was a chorister at Ely Cathedral. With frequent trips to the cathedral for services and rehearsals, we needed somewhere that was easy, stress-free, comfortable and welcoming. We sincerely hope you will enjoy that environment too! We manage all the bookings, as well as the care & maintenance of the property ourselves, using professional contractors where required. Although we live about 40 minutes away, you can be assured of a personal service and thorough care and attention at all times. We do respond to all enquiries even if we're booked - so please check an overly enthusiastic spam filter hasn't buried our reply. Better still leave us a phone number and we'll call or text you! We can provide a purpose-built wheelchair access ramp to the rear door, and the internal stairs to the first floor have substantial rails on both sides. There is easy access to the car parking area and to the street without steps or curbs. The additional wc on the ground floor makes this an ideal property for anyone who requires support with mobility. More

This is our second holiday at this house and we had a lovely time again. It's great to be walking distance from the Cathedral and to be able to go and enjoy live music every days. Also very handy for supermarkets and things. Thanks :-)

The historic city of Ely is full of charm and beauty and home to one of the most magnificent cathedrals in England.Nestled in the Fen countryside, this small city in East Cambridgeshire is your ideal day visit or short break location. Whether it is a tranquil, peaceful retreat you are looking for or an inspiring, invigorating visit then the bustling city of Ely surrounded by dramatic countryside has it all. Ely has the major tourist locations of Cambridge and Newmarket on its doorstep at the same time as being only an hour away from London by rail and only two hours away from the Norfolk Coast by car. Not forgetting of course the numerous small villages and towns in between that each have their own individual characteristics to offer. Therefore, Ely makes for an ideal base for exploring the area.
How to get there
By road: From the south, follow the A10 north from Cambridge. On entering the City of Ely, keep straight on until you reach Brintons Garage on the left. Turn left into Cromwell Road, and turn right into Chiefs Street at the 'T' junction. Number 19 is third house from the junction. From the north, approach Ely from the A10 or the A142.. At the roundabout where these two roads meet, follow the signs to City Centre. Then as above.By Rail: Frequent trains to Ely from London (Kings Cross and LIverpool Street) and from Cambridge, Liverpool and Birmingham (via Peterborough). Station - taxi ride or a 15 min walk (uphill) from the station. By air: London Stansted airport is nearest (1 hour), but coaches run from Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton to Cambridge and on to Ely. Train directly to Ely from Stansted terminal
