Holiday Rental House
Moynihan's is located in a sheltered position on the rugged Toe Head peninsula, off the 'Wild Atlantic Way', and is a haven of tranquillity with a sandy beach less than a mile away. The large kitchen-dining room has fabulous sea views (as do two of the bedrooms). A 5th bedroom and additional living accommodation is provided in an adjoining annex so the property also suits two families holidaying together (but we do not let this separately). The large garden, terrace and indoor accommodation provide plenty of space for dining whatever the weather, and a wood burning stove keeps the living room warm. There is ample indoor and outdoor play areas for children and there is ample parking. Dream holiday home
I cannot recommend this holiday home enough. It has a beautiful location with a gorgeous sea view from the kitchen. The house is warm and comfortable with a kitchen that is perfectly suited to cooking and entertaining. Only 10 mins drive from a fantastic sheltered sandy beach and close to everything great about West Cork.

A fantastic well equipped and spacious holiday house in a stunning location.
My family of 6 stayed here for 2 weeks this summer, including 3 small children & had a perfect holiday. The house is in a beautiful setting, with stunning changing scenery - due to the different weather. the gardens were fabulous, safe and very well maintained, with great out door furniture, my children enjoyed the freedom of running around, without disturbing anyone. The house is very spacious, clean and well equipped, particularly the kitchen it had everything you could need and was a joy to cook and eat in. both Paula and Pauline were great to deal with prior to and during the stay, there was nothing too much effort and very quick to respond. Can't recommend this holiday home more. We had a fabulous holiday and wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Paula and Pauline for all your help.

It was perfect place to stay, and I would stay there again.
Staying at Moynihan's Toe Head was perfect for me and my cousin, our grandfather Patrick Hallihane was born there, and our grandmother came from Dooneen which you pass through to get to Toe Head. The views are breathtaking and the home is warm and inviting. We would highly recommend it. The roads are very narrow but the neighbor are friendly and will give you the right of way. We got some beautiful pictures which will be framed and hung in my home office so that I can daydream.

It was a beautiful setting in a most tranquil scenic setting.
We stayed in this property for 9 days which was very much off the beaten track but well worth it when we reached our destination. It was a very nice comfortable house inside and outside there were plenty of places to sit out. The scenery was most beautiful out the front of the house, yet to the rear of the house was a sun trap !! House was very well equipped with everything you might need supplied. We met Pauline and Brendan, who live a short distance away and they look after the house. Also met their lovely dog, Hank, he is a beaut !! If we had to pick one thing it would be to suggest supplying at least one other set of keys so that when we were leaving property we would not have to rely on each other for entry to the house. Thanks for our lovely stay. Ann Kelly, Barbara Kelly, Martina Kelly

Toe Head what an amazing stay
This area of Ireland is beautiful, the people are so friendly and with amazing places to visit like Mizen Head, kayaking at Reen Pier and a day out at Sherkin Island we have had a wonderful week. Moynihan’s has everything you need down to a picnic blanket for sitting watching the sunset on the beach which is a 2 minute walk away. We have had a day of sea mists and this lent an atmospheric feeling to our visit. Would recommend visiting union hall for fresh fish cooked at home watching the sun go down over West Cork. Highly recommend

Wunderschöne Ruheoase direkt am Wild Atlantic Way

Relaxing location
The cottage is definitely off the beaten track and perfect for a relaxing break. The view out over the bay is stunning and it is easy just to spend an hour or two sat at the kitchen table watching the waves, and keeping a look out for passing seals. There are loads of lovely walks nearby, including an easy circuit straight out of the door. The local food was fantastic and one of the highlights of the trip, whether freshly purchased from the market or eaten in one of the wonderful local restaurants and cafés.

A perfect gem
Well we are here at the moment and it is absolutely beautiful. From the moment we booked and contacted Paula we just knew we were going to love it. We did get a little lost as it's a way from the beaten track but our sat nav got us here. We were met by Pauline who offered us a typically wonderful Irish welcome. The bungalow is really lovely. Beautifully equipped with everything we can want from a holiday home with the most spectacular view of the Wild Atlantic Way you could imagine. Plenty of room in this spotlessly clean little gem. Visit Fields in Skibbereen for your supplies. The kitchen and every room are well appointed and the adjoining annex gives plenty of room. Tragumna and surroundings are just as I remembered from my last visit 21 years ago. The Skibbereen Eagle is the nearest pub with fabulous food. Anyone who rents this lovely property are in for a real treat and a holiday to remember. Thank you Paula and Pauline for your wonderful hospitality and the chance to use your gorgeous bungalow. Our holiday continues. Ps still trying to find a pub with a dartboard!!!!!!!

Amazing
Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your home. The house is in a stunning location with simply the most amazing views, however what made this holiday one off the best for is was dealing with the owners Paula and the most Pauline, both ladies are a pleasure to deal with and couldn't do enough for us. The local knowledge of the area and things to do was second to none esp the things you won't find in a guide book. We will be back. We loved it. Thank you.

About the neighbourhood
Toe Head is a rugged peninsula on the Wild Atlantic Way, with panoramic sea views - often seals, basking sharks and even dolphins can be spotted swimming in the bay. One can fish off the rocks, walk the headland or simply relax at the beach. There are many activities nearby including sea kayaking, whale and dolphin watching, quad biking, horse riding, golf and surfing and sailing. Nearby Castletownshend has an excellent pub and restaurant and Skibbereen has a wide choice of restaurants - we are happy to recommend some!
Getting around
A car is essential for reaching our beautiful remote location, however, there are local taxi firms and we have left phone numbers for these in the guest information at the property. If you wish to visit the islands off the coast, ferries run all year around and the most up to date timetables will be in the guest information at the property. If you are feeling energetic, there is a bike hire shop on Townshend street in Skibbereen - the roads are quiet and there are many cycle routes. Details of cycle routes are available from the tourist information shop in Skibbereen.
