Holiday Rental House
Just 1 hr from the vibrant city of Toronto, our recently restored log farmhouse blends historic features with rustic-chic decor and sits on 70 private acres of organic farmland. Within 15 minutes are fantastic restaurants, antique shops, several golf courses, hiking, riding, skiing, a luxury 8,000 sq ft. resort spa and an excellent award-winning winery. Everything you need for the perfect escape to the country. The oldest part of the home is the original 1840s log structure that has been lovingly restored with a contemporary/rustic extension. On the ground floor there is a large living room with a large wood-burning stone fireplace. The dining room has a large antique table that can seat 8-10 and finally on the ground floor of the original log farmhouse is a 3-piece bathroom with shower....Just 1 hr from the vibrant city of Toronto, our recently restored log farmhouse blends historic features with rustic-chic decor and sits on 70 private acres of organic farmland. On the ground floor there is a large living room with a large wood-burning stone fireplace. The dining room has a large antique table that can seat 8-10 and finally on the ground floor of the original log farmhouse is a 3-piece bathroom with shower. Upstairs in the original log structure is the beautiful pine-floored landing with 2 large bedrooms, with antique 'shabby-chic' furnishings, and the largest bathroom with antique claw-foot tub. The 1860's addition to the log farmhouse contains a well-stocked kitchen with everything the keen chef could need and a sun porch leading out to a deck with patio set and BBQ for outdoor dining. There are 2 further bedrooms up the second set of stairs. The new extension was recently completed in March and has a family room with cathedral ceiling, walkout deck and hot tub, a third bathroom and laundry room. The extensive lawns and garden area retain the country/farm feel and have a fire pit for evening entertainment and a large play set with a slide and swings for younger children. There's even a tree-house for adventurous kids as well as a fun tire swing in the barn.More

About the neighbourhood
This area has beautifully preserved and historic small towns that are filled with antique shops, boutique stores, fine-dining restaurants, awesome gastro-pubs and micro-breweries. Creemore, Elora, Fergus, Elmira and many others are all a short-drive away and make wonderful day-trips. The local restaurants are amazing from fine-dining in an old school house to an awesome gastro-pub in the stone-walled basement of an 1840s building in a secluded hamlet. There are two of the best general stores in Ontario, the Rosemont General Store just 5-minutes north and the Hockley Valley General Store 7-minutes south. Here you can get everything from day-to-day groceries to fine-foods, Hunter boots and French soaps. Both have excellent cafes that do great breakfast, brunch or dinner and Hockley Genera...
How to get there
The most scenic way to arrive at the farm from Toronto is to come up the Gore Road to Hwy 9 then turn left towards Orangeville. After about 2 Km turn right at the Mono-Adjala Townline - Concession Road 1. Follow this beautifully scenic road north for about 9 minutes until you come to the village of Hockley. If you need any provisions the Hockley General Store is a great place to stop. Past the Store by about 100 yards the road forks so take the left fork and continue north for 7minutes. This is by far the best, most scenic way to come to the farm
