Lovely one bed accommodation, with shower, wc. Small kitchen with cooker and breakfast table. Beautiful views out of the windows. Able to sit outside on the old railway platform, again with lovely views.

About the neighbourhood
Platform 1, Gilling Station, is situated in the lower reaches of the Ampleforth Valley, set among some of Yorkshire's most beautiful countryside. Helmsley and the North York Moors National Park is six miles away and close by are the historic abbeys of Byland and Rievaulx. Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall are both short car journeys away. On the doorstep are great walks and cycle rides. You can wander through the many tracks within Gilling Woods or head up to Ampleforth Abbey which is a pleasant walk away. Further afield are York (20 miles), the beaches of the East Coast (35 miles) and Harrogate and the Dales (30 miles). Gilling itself has the acclaimed Fairfax Arms pub, a play area and miniature railway line.
How to get there
You will probably arrive via the A170, either from the Thirsk or Helmsley directions. From the A170, you turn into Low Street (B1257) at Sproxton and head along the road for a couple of miles, before turning right onto the B1363 at Oswaldkirk Bank. Continue along this road until you get into Gilling East. Platform 1, Gilling Station is at Station House, on the left hand side as you enter the village. Simply park up in the driveway and your mini-apartment is accessed via the gate at the side of the property and along the old station platform.
