Tranquility .. Peace .. and Relaxation
Our hosts, Julia and Paul, couldn’t have been any kinder, they gave us produce from their own garden and essential provisions to start us off. They suggested different places to visit and eat, all of which were really good. They also lent us tennis racquets and balls to use on their court. Byre Cottage is a wonderful place to recharge the batteries and has a great balance of sightseeing lots of different areas and relaxing with a good book. Very cosy and comfortable with all you need for a stress free break. We loved staying there and we enjoyed learning about all there is to offer in East Sussex and Kent. Exceptional and can’t fault anything. It is fabulous.

Idyllic!
Wow! Pattleton’s Byre is just beautiful, (I think the photos do it a disservice), from woodland walks to the views of the rolling hills, wild flowers and the ducks on the pond at the front – simply idyllic. The cottage is very well equipped, including WiFi and it has a fully enclosed garden as well as the acres of private land that you are free to enjoy. Julia and Paul are fonts of all local knowledge regarding places to eat, drink and visit, they have perfected the balance of being there if you need them without intruding on your holiday. And then there is Wellie, (the border terrier), he is the sweetest, cuddliest little dog who will greet you with a tail wag every day… make sure you pack extra dog treats for him!

Our favourite place to stay in the UK
This was our 14th visit to 'the Byre' We know exactly what we would find- a beautiful clean and perfect cottage. Lovely gardens and woods and the the nicest hosts in Julia Paul and Wellie. No badger sightings this time but lots of great wildlife. We have come home refreshed and revived. We have already booked for 2020

Very helpful owners, lovely accommodation and dogs made very welcome.
The Byre is in a quiet rural area overlooking fields with lots of walks nearby. Excellent food shopping can be had in Westlfield and attractions include several National Trust properties, lovely gardens, including Great Dixter, and Merriments and there are some very good bird watching sites at Rye Harbour and Dungeness and the lovely old town of Rye is very close plus the wonderful Medieval churches of Romney Marsh. Julia, the owner along with her husband Paul are very friendly. And Julia leaves out for her guests fresh eggs, milk, bread and orange juice. This was my third visit after a gap of a couple of years, I would hope to return again.

Wonderful cottage well equipped, nice comfy bed in peaceful rural location.Beautiful
The Byre is lovely one bedroom very roomy cottage. Kitted out nicely with everything possible, we found nothing to fault at all. From the bedroom window the view of of sheep in the field. So many places to visit, could have done with 2weeks to see more. We visited Hastings beach, Camber Sands, Castles, and beautiful gardens and went on lots of walks. Didn't take our dog, she would have loved it, but will next time. Sitting back and getting away from the hustle & bustle of life was relaxing for us. Couldn't have picked a better location and place to stay. Just check out the past reviews they don't lie. Want to say Thank You Julia & Paul for making us feel welcome and comfortable.

Amazing hosts; a stunning setting and a private wood to get lost in - the perfect getaway!
Wellie and his staff were fantastic. Right from the moment we arrived till we left they couldn't have done more to make us feel relaxed and at home. Our dog Minnie and Wellie mooched about together the whole time, helping Paul in the veg patch and to pick sweet peas - which were then delivered fresh in a vase, which is a lovely touch. Julia even invited us to pick salad leaves and herbs as and when we needed - a simple but amazing gesture. We will definitely be back as it couldn't have been better.'

We are so pleased you had a relaxing stay after such a hectic house move! It was great that Minnie enjoyed her first visit to the beach at Camber Sands. Hope you will return to visit some of the other gardens in the future. Julia & Paul
