Beaworthy, Devon, England
Medley's Cottage is the perfect getaway for a family of four, or two couples, wishing for the peace, quiet and clean air of deep Devon countryside.

Found down an unmade lane, Medley's Cottage is a recent conversion of a barn that once belonged to a nearby stately home. With central heating, heat-recovery ventilation, solar hot water + electricity, you'll be warm and cosy in this beautifully-appointed dwelling. Note that there are no 'hidden extras': the price is all-inclusive.

Upstairs are 2 spacious bedrooms, one with a king-sized double bed, the other with your choice of either twin beds or—by zipping and linking—a super king-sized double. Both bedrooms have delightful en-suites with large showers and windows overlooking the garden and lake. Downstairs is a modern, large, luxurious and well-equipped open plan kitch...

Interaction with guests
We're Anne and John, the owners, and we'll be here to greet you with the keys when you arrive. We're just a short distance away should you need assistance or want to borrow maps or DVDs. Some guests prefer to be left all alone whereas other guests seek us out to ask questions about the area, the wildlife, the flowers and garden—or recommendations for where to eat. Either way, that's fine by us!

Just back from a great week at Medleys Cottage. We were two couples holidaying together and Medleys Cottage must be the best we have found. We loved the huge garden and the Summerhouse at the edge of the lake. The cottage was equipped with everything...More

About the neighbourhood
Medleys Cottage nestles in Beaworthy, amongst the most sparsely-populated area in the region—no rush hour here—equidistant between the rolling moorland of Dartmoor (15 mins*) and the great beaches of the North Devon and Cornish coast, famed for its delightful fishing villages, cliff walks and sandy surfing beaches (nearest, 25mins). On the doorstep we have Winsford Walled Garden (a 1 minute walk); Halwill Nature reserve (3 mins); the North Devon Alpaca Park (9 mins); and Cookworthy Forest with its cycle network (7 mins).

Dark skies are guaranteed as the nearest city is 45 miles away; youll be stunned by what you can see from the patio and garden, particularly on clear autumn and winter evenings (if you dont own a pair, why not buy or borrow a pair of binoculars or telescope to bring with...
