Fantastic!
We have not long returned from a lovely 4 night stay. The house is beautiful, spotlessly clean and bigger than the pictures suggest. There are so many thoughtful touches like toiletries, kitchen bits and a coffee machine (the caramel lattes were a treat!) The kids room is ace, our girls loved playing with everything...it was hard to drag them away!! Elaine was a great host too :)

Perfect Bolt Hole by the Sea
I stayed at The Bolt Hole throughout March 2021 for work as a key worker during the COVID-19 lockdown. Elaine is the perfect host, always on hand to help. The accommodation was spacious and always clean and had all the amenities I needed for my stay. It is ideally situated very close to the beach and within a few minutes walk of the Town Centre. I would definitely stay again.

Absolute gem of a place. Perfect location. Elaine was quick to respond to any questions we had. The property was warm, clean, well equipt and had a lovely little yard out the back with table and chairs. Plenty of games provided and a little welcome pack too. The house is literally one street away from the beach so perfect for nipping out early morning to watch the sunrise. New Biggin itself is beautiful, fabulous walks along the coastal path and a chance of seeing dolphins and seals. Friendly locals, unspoilt prom, no tat shops, lovely fish and chip shop Ladhars. We will be back

Absolutely perfect
A lovely place to stay. We absolutely loved it. Clean, homely, quiet, fab location to get to the beach - 2min walk if that and no parking issues. Lovely little back yard to sit out in with painted mural of Newbiggin. I’ve never done Airbnb before but my 1st experience was a great 1. It honestly didn’t feel like I was in someone else’s home I felt so comfortable. There was everything we needed- kitchen well stocked with appliances, pots pans, crockery etc. Everything was clean. The only thing that we could have done with is a slow cooker for when we came back from walking all day so food would be ready. Personal choice Host had left some milk which was a lovely touch too. Great house info booklet. Information leaflets. Clean throughout. Clean bathroom. Lovely soft towels. Plenty of loo rolls. Hand wash. Duvets and pillows were good quality. Made for a good nights sleep. Host was very responsive with texts, that was really helpful as we wanted to know a couple of things quite quickly. Newbiggin-by-the-Sea is a very friendly place and the locals were lovely. All in all there was nothing to fault during our stay. I would definitely recommend this for a lovely place to stay if anyone is up that way.

Brilliant short break!
We were originally due to visit in April but finally made it here in early September due to lockdown. This is one of the nicest holiday lets we have stayed at and in a lovely quiet seaside village with a long promenade and large beach. Our daughter is 2 years and 8 months and she really loved the house due to the pirate themed kids bedroom. Some nice extra touches were the pirate sticker books left to use and these kept her quiet in the car. The rest of the property is presented to a high standard with a comfortable master bedroom as well as very modern bathroom and kitchen with all you would need to self cater as well as the basics such as milk Etc. The location is superb only 30 seconds from the beach. After my daughter had tea she was down on the beach playing prior to bath and bed - a great novelty compared to home. On day one we parked close to the house - another great feature and our daughter played on the great play park near the beach and also on the beach itself - easy to pass several hours. On day two we visited cragside a stunning national trust property. On day three we went to Tynemouth which has a great beach. Our only regret was we didn’t stay for longer, we don’t usually go back to the same places but with so many great days out in Northumberland and it being so unspoilt I am sure we will!

Fantastic Family Fun
Bolt Hole is a fantastic getaway within a minute walk to a practically private, safe, and fun bay. The location is superb. The bay features long cliff-walks, no waves, and tidal pools for the kids' marine life education. With a pirate-themed kids's room, a modern bathroom, and a separate kitchen and lounge, this is great for family luxury. The house is clean, with all the amenities you expect of a first-rate stay, including more kids's games than you can play. It's located close enough to Hadrian's Wall, The Lake District, and other locales for day trips, too. Ample parking, a back garden patio to wash the sand off your feet, and groceries a stone's throw away - it's perfect for quality family time in a non-touristy area. Thank you, Elaine for a fantastic holiday four my husband and two children: we will be back!

Great location minute walk to sea front
This is a lovely house and so near the beach. We all loved the lovely beach and surrounding beaches - most lovely shells on Newbiggin. Great ice cream, cafe and fish n chips nearby at Blyth - even did gluten free food. The house itself is so central to many beautiful locations, unfortunately we went at the start of Covid 19 and a lots of the shops/attractions were closed. We have promised ourselves that we will return when we can. We took our granddaughter with us and she absolutely loved her bedroom which was filled with toys and games, it was hard for us at one point to get her to the beach as she was so happy there. Lots of special touches by the owner leavings ice, lollies, milk, water, juice - this was a lovely touch.

A wonderful stay
Spent only a week here but could of easily stayed longer. The bolt hole is a beautiful property warm welcoming and extremely clean. Everything you needed and more. Very close to a great beach no sunbathing in February but a lovely walk to the museum for coffee and a cheese scone. There’s a wonderful Italian restaurant just a couple of minutes away with great food. Owner Elaine was on hand if we needed anything great knowledge of the area where to go and things to see. Definitely be back.

Half-term break
Our family have just returned from staying at this lovely 'home from home' and we cant recommend it enough! A wonderful, clean place to stay when exploring the wonders of Northumberland, and the bonus of being literally a minutes walk from the beach. You won't regret staying here.
