Comfortable Apartment With Magnificent Views

1 of 21
Condo/Apartment -
2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 6
Anzere, Canton of Valais, Swiss Alps
The apartment is a cosy family second home, comfortable and well-equipped. The style is soft with wooden furniture and cladding – if you like chrome, steel and glass then this apartment is not for you! It enjoys breath-taking views along the Rhone valley from its south-facing balcony, and views of the mountain, fields, woods and the télécabine from its north balcony. Located next to the skating-rink in the central Place du Village, it is convenient for shopping, ski hire and a selection of restaurants.

Although the flat sleeps 6, an additional adjoining studio is optionally available. This has an additional shower and toilet, and can sleep 4, bringing the total accommodation to 10. Contact the owner for details.

The flat now has full internet and excellent Wifi facility, with cable television offering 200 channels in many languages. G...

About the neighbourhood
The village of Anzère is located on a shelf of the mountain, high above the Rhone valley on the north (sunny) side.
It provides spectacular views towards the Matterhorn and the border with Italy, and is surrounded by forests, Alpine fields and rushing streams.
The breathtaking scenery can be reached on foot along a choice of paths, some gentle and some challenging - something for all tastes.
In summer the fields are a carpet of rare mountain flowers, and offer an occasional glimpse of marmosets and chamois.
Getting around
If you have a car you can tour the charming villages of the Valais, but public transport is clean, friendly and reliable.
You can take the bus up the side valley to the Rousses restaurant and stunningly beautiful Lac de Tseuzier, then on through villages to Crans Montana and to the Statue of the Christ-Roi.
There are so many sights to see and places to visit, it's lucky the Anzère Office de Tourisme is located right opposite the flat entrance!
Car not needed
How to get there
Airport: Geneva: 177.0 km
Railway: Sion: 16.0 km
We usually drive via Eurotunnel, stopping a night near Troyes. On the way home we usually do the journey in a single day because of the hour gained.
The drive over the mountains via Pontarlier is especially scenic, or we use the motorway via Geneva if snow is falling.
Alternatively, a lot of our friends fly to Geneva and take the train to Sion, in the valley below Anzère. At Sion, the bus station is right outside the train station, and buses to Anzère are (as everywhere in Switzerland!) regular and reliable.
