Milliner's Cottage, in the centre of the historic market town of Pocklington, is a short stroll from shops, restaurants, pubs, theatre, cinema, sports centre and Burnby Hall gardens. It is the perfect base for visiting the nearby city of York or for walking or cycling in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds. Central heating and a wood burning stove make the cottage cosy and comfortable all year round. Milliner's Cottage has been renovated to a high standard sympathetic to its Victorian origins. There are original fireplaces, sliding sash windows and items of antique furniture, but the recliner sofas and Victorian style beds are new, with crisp cotton bedding and pocket sprung mattresses for a perfect night's sleep. The cottage was very well appointed, and some treats and milk were provided to start us off. Everything was spotlessly clean - even a brand new scourer. Good quality bedding and mattresses. Convenient for York. Certainly better than a hotel.
