La Cabanya is a beautiful, charming and luxury villa. It has just been awarded with 5 stars/keys from the Catalan Government (the highest quality award category).
The house is located in the village of Mata, in the heart of the Costa Brava. It's a quiet, safe and sunny neighbourhood and the neighbours are very warm and friendly. It's in a privileged place since it lays between the sea and the mountains.
The house is walking distance from shops and restaurants and a short drive from Banyoles lake (only 2 km.), 15 km. from Girona city, 25 km. from Girona's Airport, 35 km. from Costa Brava beaches and 115 km. from the Barcelona city.
The house is suitable for a group from 2 up to 6 people.

- The tranquility of the village must be respected and therefore it is not allowed to play music outside. From 11:00 p.m. guests must be silent outside.
- Smoking is not allowed inside the house. Smoking is allowed in the garden.
- For non-compliance with the aforementioned rules, La Cabanya reserves the right of access, as established in article 12 and 39 of Law 13/2002 of June 21, on tourism in Catalonia.

Tranquilidad y máxima comodidad
Estuvimos dos noches en pareja en esta maravillosa casa rural con piscina. Está situada en un pueblo muy pequeño, zona muy tranquila y tan solo a 2 minutos de Banyoles.
La casa tienen todas las comodidades y detalles. Aire condicionado, camas muy cómodas, cocina completamente equipada con todo tipo de pequeño electrodoméstico y utensilios (incluso cápsulas para la cafetera Dolce Gusto).
Lo mejor de todo la piscina! Patio muy acogedor, con tumbonas y porche, los 3 días tuvimos mucho sol y mucho calor y pudimos disfrutar de la piscina.
El trato de la propietaria muy cercano también.
Sin duda volveremos a repetir la experiencia!

Estancia inmejorable
Pasamos 3 días maravillosos, La casa lo tiene TODO desde unos propietarios encantadores a todas las comodidades. La ubicación es muy buena teniendo al rededor un amplio abanico de lugares que visitar y solo añadir que gracias por todo y que esperamos repetir pronto!

Perfect holidays
A wonderful week holiday at La Cabanya. Thank you very much!.
The house is incredibly well-equipped and every last detail thought of. It's perfect size for adults and children.
We loved having our own pool and a good size outdoor area.
The surrounding area is wonderful.

Una estancia 10!
Nos costó mucho encontrar una casa con jardín privado para nosotros dos para poder celebrar nuestro aniversario.
La casa fantástica, el jardín muy bonito y un tiempo muy agradable.
Hay muchos detalles en la casa que hacen muy fácil la estancia.
El masaje de chocolate que me hizo Sandra fue divino!
Un buen regalo de cumpleaños :-)

About the neighbourhood
The most interesting place in Banyoles to visit, is the Olympic Banyoles lake that it was the olympic city of rowing at 1992.The lake represents the origin and main symbolic identity of the town of Banyoles. The lake and its associated lacustrine basin are regarded as the largest karstic stretch on the Iberian Peninsula, and make up an environmental system of enormous value. s located to the West of the town, it was declared part of the Plan for Spaces of National Interest (PEIN) by the Catalonia Generalitat. In 2003, it was included in the Ramsar List of Wetlands of International Importance, and has been put forward for inclusion in the Natura 2000 Network for the Mediterranean region. In addition, the Banyoles Town Council, as well as the local population, are petitioning for it to be declared a Nature Reserve.

Banyoles historical centre houses the origins of the medieval town and the town itself.
It is an historical nucleus built in the shade of the Sant Esteve Monastery. The Benedictine cenobium eventually led to the foundation of the old town, which took place from the 9th century onwards. Cobbled streets, little squares and cozy corners, civil and religious buildings, art and the water flowing through the canals from the lake all come together in a unique town centre that merits special attention. There are more places to visit such as the Preshistoric Caves of Serinyà, Besalú village, the Natural Park of Volcanic Zone of La Garrotxa...

La Cabanya is situated 25 km. from the International Airport of Girona-Costa Brava. In this airport there are some low cost companies.
Besides, in Girona Airport, there are some car hire companies.
However, you can come to the villa by public tranport (by bus). There is a bus stop only 300 meters of the villa.
Another option is arrive to Barcelona Airport, then, it's 1 hour and 15 minutes by car to get to La Cabanya.
