Our family of four always looks for unique homes for our vacations, and this loft exceeded our expectations. What I didn't realize until we arrived is that the flat is literally on a destination street, the oldest in Old Montreal. The view is breathtakingly beautiful, especially with all of the holiday decorations.
Our family of four (me, my husband, 17-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter) visited at Christmas 2021, in the middle of the pandemic. Yeah, I know, but we drove from the U.S. and knew that much of the town would be shut down. We saw only a glimmer of what Montreal must be like without covid restrictions, so we can't wait to return.
Since town was pretty quiet, we spent a lot of time in the loft. Despite the legendary cold weather, the loft was surprisingly comfortable and warm, even with the tall windows and ceilings. We watched movies (bring a firestick!) on the huge TV in the family room, and read and napped in the comfortable beds. We loved the funky interior design.
The kitchen is serviceable, you don't want to cook a large meal there, but you don't have to, there are so many good restaurants within walking distance, plus a ton of takeout and delivery options. The dining table is huge, there's enough dishware and silverware, and a dishwasher to take care of it. I also used the coffeemaker every day.
We didn't experience much noise from the outdoors or neighbors and what we did hear didn't bother us as former city-dwellers. We took care to keep our noise down, easy with teens.
Finally, Al was one of the most responsive hosts we've ever worked with! He answers texts very quickly and was so patient with us as we tried to figure out timing around our whole covid testing/border crossing requirements.
I highly recommend this apartment for families and for friends' getaways, and I can't imagine a better place to stay for Christmas and/or New Year's!
