We have the best of both worlds, the seaside at Llanfairfechan with the Carneddau mountains of Snowdonia at our back. Llanfairfechan has a sandy beach with Victorian promenade, beach cafes, pubs, Co-op and Spar, newsagent, post office and cashpoints. Our views our spectacular, and we offer peace and tranquillity - a country hideaway. You can walk or bike straight out onto the mountains from here, or just sit on the verandah and watch the ever changing sea, and observe the many birds, from choughs, kestrels and buzzards to woodpeckers. There are bird reserves at Llanfairfechan, Aber Ogwen, Conwy. The walk to the spectacular Aber Falls is a must, and the start is only 3 miles away.
How to get there
If coming by train, you will need to organize a taxi to come up the hill as we are at 250 metres, and the train station is down by the seaside. Alternatives to Llanfairfechan, which is a request stop on the train, are Bangor (if coming from Holyhead) or Llandudno Junction. Cars can be hired at Holyhead or Llandudno Junction.
If driving, we recommend you come up via Valley Road and Newry Drive as it is wider and less steep than Mount Road.
