Cancun downtown is about 30 min north and Mayan Culture sites are about 30-60 min south. There is public bus transportation right in front of the resort and site-seeing tours from the resort. The resort offers free airport pickup.
This is such a beautiful and lovely place for a vacation! We had tons of fun there--swimming, the pool is gigantic, speed boating, parasailing, golf etc. They also have a great gym/spa area, and many other activities during the day. You really don't have to leave the resort. However, Cancun downtown, Playa Del Carmin and other sites are not too far away from the resort. They are worth to visit too.
