Carol and Steve, thank you so much for an amazing stay. An idyllic country setting with plenty to keep us entertained in the surrounding area. The barn was clean, comfortable and had many extra touches to make it feel homely. We will definitely be back

About the neighbourhood
Situated in the Mortainais region of Normandy, this is an ideal base for walking/cycling holidays, with miles of unspoilt bridleways to explore. There are fabulous restaurants ranging from the very exclusive at 75 euros a head, to the great value 4 courses for around 12 euros, usually including wine! Horse riding and karting are both available locally. Heated swimming pool at Mortain. The waterfalls and Abbey at Mortain are both worth a visit, as is the Fosse Arthour - allegedly the resting place of King Arthur!
How to get there
Ryanair fly from East Midlands and Stansted to Dinard. Car hire is available at the airport, but much cheaper to arrange when booking your flight. There are cheap ferries from Dover to Boulogne or Dunkirk (Norfolk Lines). Nearer to home LD Lines travel from Portsmouth to Le Havre. Brittany Ferries - Poole/Portsmouth to Cherbourg/Ouistreham(Caen) Condor Ferries - Portsmouth to Cherbourg and Weymouth/Poole to St Malo (Only high Summer) Boulogne/Dunkirk 5 hours away Le Havre/Cherbourg 2 hours Ouistreham, St Malo and Dinard 1hour 30 mins
