The holiday cottage is in a quiet location accross the Lane from Loch Mask. Great for Fishing, Walking, Golf and Cycling. 'Paddy's Bar' is 5 minutes walk away. 4 bedrooms, 1 with ensuite shower room (down stairs) 3 further bedrooms are upstairs with a family bathroom, Lounge with open fire and TV. Seperate dining room and Conservatory with Fantastic views of the Lake. Utility with Washing machine and Seperate Rod Room. Secure Off road parking for 4 cars.

Shintilla Tourmakeady
The cottage is in a fantastic but remote location overlooking Louch Mask. Based on the directions provided we found it difficult to find in the dark (as we arrived late). The decor is tired but our biggest disappointment was the amount of dust throughout which was obviously of long standing. The stairs to the upper floor are open tread and extremely steep which in our opinion would be unsuitable for young children.

Great place to unwind and relax.
The cottage is in a great spot overlooking the lake. The facilities in the cottage were as you would expect in a modern house. The area is great for walking, fishing and there are local pubs where we had great food and were given a warm welcome. In the evening, as the temperature dropped,to end a relaxing day,we sat in front of a roaring log fire with a glass of something.

The craic was mighty in Tourmakeady
The house is situated in a fantastic lakeside location with beautiful views. The weather was lovely and I even went swimming in the lake one afternoon ! We visited Westport which is a vibrant pretty little town near to Clew Bay and the unique Croagh Patrick. I had a wonderful birthday starting with Irish Coffees at Hamiltons Bar in Leenane followed by a cruise on Killary Fjord and lunch back at Hamiltons . The mussells and soda bread were superb. Another day we visited the impressive Ashford Castle and had lunch at the Crow's Nest in Cong where the food and service were excellent. After 10 days relaxing in holiday heaven we reluctantly had to come home but we hope to go back to Tourmakeady this summer.

How to get there
By Car: from Dublin, follow the N5 for Westport, arriving at Castlebar take the N84 and continue forward to Partry here take the R330 signposted to Westport, then bear left onto the R300 signposted to Thuar Mhic Éadaigh (Tourmakeady.) It takes about 3½ hours to drive from Dublin to Tourmakeady. from Galway, follow the N84 for Castlebar, at Partry, take the R330 signposted to Westport and then bear left onto the R300 signposted to Thuar Mhic Éadaigh (Tourmakeady.) It takes just over an hour to drive from Galway City to Tourmakeady. from Sligo, follow the N17 and then the N5 for Castlebar arriving at Castlebar take the N84 for Ballinrobe, continue forward then at Partry take the R330 signposted to Westport and then bear left onto the R300 signposted to Thuar Mhic Éadaigh (Tourmakeady.) It takes about an hour and a half to drive from Sligo town to Thuar Mhic Éadaigh.
