Holiday Rental House
Welcome to the Fort Cottage. We hope you enjoy your time here in our historic home in this old Tobago neighbourhood. This house and yard once hosted a tobacco processing operation and a chicken farm. It has survived generations of children, the devastating hurricane Flora in 1962, and several earthquakes. The property was recently renovated and all modern conveniences were installed but it maintains all the charm of its 150 year history from its vaulted ceilings to its creaking floors. Its night-time view over the port of Scarborough may be brighter but it’s not hard to get lost in time looking at the brood of resident chickens foraging for fare in the large backyard or cooling down under the old fashioned outdoor rain-head shower. Fruit trees abound; there’s always something in season at the Fort Cottage – mango, sapodilla, cashew, avocado, soursop, cherries and heavenly Tobago chennet. Sit and sip on the back porch or swing and snooze in one of our hammocks; the Fort Cottage provides great opportunities to relax and unwind. A short stroll away is the magnificent Fort King George. Built in the late 18th century, this site features a museum and offers panoramic ocean and mountain views. We look forward to welcoming you to your home away from home... More

I always enjoy, and have a pleasant stay at the cottage. I enjoy the abeyance, antique furnishing and peacefulness of the cottage. I will always stay at the cottage whenever I visit Tobago for rest and relaxation.

How to get there
A few international flights fly directly to Tobago but most connections are made through Trinidad. Connections to Tobago are frequent on Caribbean Airlines with several 20 min flights daily but they get booked quickly. US$45. The ferry from Trinidad is about UD$10 and takes 2.5 hours. Motion sickness tablets are recommended. From the airport in Tobago, take Claude Noel Hwy and make a right on Calderhall Rd South, which is two exits past the main Scarborough exit. If you past Dwight Yorke Stadium you've gone to far. Follow Calderhall Road toward Fort George. Make sure you stay on Calderhall Rd. The house is on the right 3 buildings from the end of Calderhall Rd. between a THA office and an empty lot.
