It is perfect for a large family, bunch of friends, corporate groups or just travellers who love to explore the less traveled terrains. Besides a fully equipped kitchen each room is provided with an electric tea kettle, and a tea chest. The guests also have access to the living area, fireplace, dining area, a small garden on the ground level and a balcony on the upper deck, depending on which rooms the guests occupy. By car one can reach the cottage within 2 hours from Chandigarh airport and 1 hour from Kalka Railway Station. One can visit Shimla and Kasauli both and yet not feel hassled by their touristy crowd. Shimla is 2 hours away and kasauli can be reached in 45 minutes by car, from the cottage. The historic Dagshai hills are merely 15 minutes away. However most beautiful are the village terrains that give one a glimpse of the local life. More

We would appreciate if guests contribute in keeping the serenity of the area intact, therefore loud music is not allowed here. In order to keep the hills clean we request our guests to avoid littering outside the property. Also Himachal is a no-plastic state, garbage disposal is not very easy here, therefore all trash needs to be collected in the bags and kept in the designated area within the property before leaving.

About the neighbourhood
Barog is a quaint hill town situated ideally between the famous Kasauli cantonment and Shimla, the summer capital of British India. Kasauli known for its colonial residences is merely 40 minutes away from the cottage. One may hire a cab or drive down to enjoy this scenic town. Shimla can be reached within 2 hours by car and is good for a day trip from Barog. The picturesque Barog Railway station that has been featured in many travel shows, is within 15 minutes distance by car from the cottage, and another 20 minutes trek down to the valley. Historic Dagshai town on the opposite hills is merely 15 minutes away from the cottage. However the most beautiful is a walk on the village trail early morning or at dusk.
Getting around
To help you with going around, we suggest: - Kasauli, if you're interested in market/mall. - Dagshai: the museum and church; and - Dolanji monastry, if you like to delve into history. - Other than that you can also visit Giri Pul and Barog Railway Station. You can also have a short ride in the toy train. - There are a couple of hikes nearby that I can further explain in detail if you're interested.
