Sant'Ansovino is a 12th century Benedictine monastery nestling in the breathtaking and tranquil hills of central Italy at the crossroads of Tuscany, Umbria and Le Marche. It has been lovingly restored into an elegant and comfortable holiday home using all original materials. Modern conveniences such as en-suite marble bathrooms, Wi-Fi broadband internet links, a large American-sized fridge and professional range cooker abound. Whilst outside, you can sip wine on the terrace, enjoy lunch under the loggia (which has a wood-fired oven as well as a bbq), or simply relax in the large heated swimming pool. An ideal destination for family holidays, anniversary celebrations or indeed a wedding. There is an excellent restaurant within walking distance, together with a wine bar and a bar/shop (open 7 days a week). San Ansovino lies about 4KM... Read more

About the neighbourhood
Lying on the crossroads of Le Marche, Umbria and Tuscany a visit here offers a wonderful opportunity to visit many fascinating towns and sites. This area was frequently visited by travellers making their way between Florence and Urbino and in towns like (Arezzo and Sanselpolcro) you can almost feel their presence. No trip to this area would be complete without visiting Urbino, or indeed to see the Roman remains in Furlo. Gubbio is approximately 30 minutes away, and Assisi approximately an hour and a half. Much nearer home Piobicco (five mins drive) has a castle museum with a fascinating collection of antique clothes. The town of Apecchio is a lovely example of a medieval hill town, with an excellent fossil museum, this is a town in which the locals are proud to be able to leave thei... more
