The Oasis beach house is paradise! I went with a group of friends and we had a fantastic time. What with the kayaks, snorkeling equipment, bicycles and a beautiful beach how could someone not have fun. The caretakers were just great too. Cooked up all our meals, no need to leave the house. We had fresh fish, lobster and they even got oysters for us. Mauricio cooked up a good roasted chicken for us one noon. Marina cooked up some very decent breakfasts and did a great job with the fish. We didn’t have to do a thing other than enjoy the sun, beach and the solitude of this beautiful place. No crowded touristy beach here. Other than some local fishermen we were the only ones there. The house is beautiful and well maintained. Good AC, the beds are comfortable, the furnishings in the bedrooms is sparse but nice and one doesn’t spend much time there anyway. The house was well equipped with sheet, pillows, blankets, towels, soap, and shampoo even beach towels. We felt like we were at a resort. We didn’t use the kitchen since Marina did all our cooking but it has everything, stove, microwave, coffee maker, small oven and all the utensils that one needs. Lots of ice and bottled water too. Be careful to bring any special foods you may want. There are no supermarkets nearby (30 minutes away) and the small stores nearby have just the basics. We brought our wine, most fresh vegies, coffee, wheat bread and pastries. The “rancho” or gazebo in front of the ocean is a fantastic place to hang out. With the hammocks, rocker chairs we would sit, drink our wine or beer, watch the waves and chill out. A great place to take naps with the sound of the waves. There is a sea turtle nursery next door and while we were there we had the luck of watching them release the baby turtles into the ocean. We also watched while Mauricio’s helper climbed the coconut trees ( no OSHA here). Really scary and then we had fresh coconut water, the real McCoy, not the packaged stuff!! Like General Mac Arthur said “I’ll be back”!! Thank you Mauricio and Marina for such a great time.

We had a wonderful weekend at the Oasis. The caretakers were very attentive to us and our dog (they have multiple friendly and non-aggressive dogs on the property). The accommodations were comfortable and clean. Towels were readily available. The AC was great and took the edge off the heat and mosquitos at night. Farther out, the ocean is a little rough but there is a lot of beach to play and you can walk out quite a ways before it gets deep. We never worried about our security or privacy. The kitchen was well stocked with cups, ice, water, and pots and pans. We brought all of our food with us except for the chicken and lovely seafood meals prepared by the care takers. Several pounds of fish, lobster, shrimp, and chicken cost us less than $35. We will definitely go back again. The owner was easy to deal with and readily available to answer questions.

Phil thanks for giving us the opportunity to stay in your beautiful beach house. The home is not only but in an awesome place very well kept and very very clean, but the best part are the great and attentive care takers Marina and Mauricio and the family they are very nice and house warming people my family enjoyed their stay and also have not stop talking about all the attention and care received from Marina and Mauricio....definitely will be visiting again and Phil thanks for being very helpful and easy to work with to make this a very memorable vacation for my family truly appreciate you!!!

This is the second time we've stayed at El Oasis and it didn't disappoint. Phil the owner gave really clear instructions and directions and responded quickly to questions we had before our stay. The house is beautiful and the beds super comfy. There was plenty of space for us all to spread out and do our own thing, or spend time together. Mauricio and his family are really accommodating and looked after us so well.

What a wonderful trip, Phil the owner made booking a breeze and was always available to answer questions. The caretaker and his family were a huge help. Awesome people who took great care of us.Great food, great snorkeling, and super fun surf to play in.Can't wait to come back!

Acabamos de volver de pasar de nuevo un excelente fin de semana alargado en El Oasis y como era de esperar, tanto la casa como las atenciones de Marina y Mauricio han estado a la altura de un excelente hotel de 5 estrellas. El lugar es ideal para descansar, leer, darse largos paseos en la playa casi privada y jugar con las olas y como no, disfrutar de las riquezas del mar, esos camarones jumbo que Mauricio siempre nos consigue, esas ostras,,,en fin,,, maravillas. La casa tiene todas las comodidades para sentirse a gusto y si tuviera que añadir algo, le añadiría una pequeña piscina donde poder refrescarse cuando el mar está más bravo. Esta será para nosotros la última ocasión de disfrutar de El Oasis porque nos toca trasladarnos lejos, pero lo echaremos de menos y dejamos a los amigos en relevo, estamos seguros de que van a volver de nuevo. Gracias Mauricio y familia por cuidar de la casa y sus huéspedes con tanto cariño. Gracias Phil por tu confianza. Hasta pronto.

Nuestro paseo al rancho El Oasis en la playa Maculis ha sido excelente, una de las mejores experiencias en familia; no solo porque el lugar es espectacular tal como se aprecia en las fotografías (en vivo es mucho mejor) sino también por las atenciones y amabilidad de Mauricio y Marina (algo que no puede apreciarse en las fotos) y que definitivamente marcan la diferencia con otros paseos realizados!! Ellos estuvieron pendientes de nosotros en todo momento tanto así que podemos asegurar que esta ha sido la primera vez que disfrutamos de un verdadero descanso pues ellos se encargaron de cuidar los detalles principalmente a la hora de la comida y hacer de nuestra estancia una experiencia encantadora! El rancho cuenta con todas las comodidades de una casa en la ciudad y al mismo tiempo con los detalles que nos dejan saber que estamos de vacaciones en un ambiente tranquilo con una excelente vista al mar desde cualquier punto. La playa es increíble para jugar, correr o simplemente caminar y disfrutar de un bello amanecer o de las extraordinarias puestas de sol… Tanto los pequeños como los grandes disfrutaron muchísimo ya que el rancho cuenta con el equipo necesario para gozar de experiencias increíbles tales como snorkling, piscinas que Marina y Mauricio acondicionaron para nosotros y el fabuloso y fantástico paseo en kayak para los más atrevidos!! Todos quedamos felices y satisfechos y con muchos deseos de regresar a este paraíso llamado “OASIS”, por cierto un nombre que hace honor a su significado y que recomendamos para quienes necesitan de un excelente y confortable descanso, definitivamente una experiencia a repetir!!!

I have been teaching in San Salvador for 3.5 years and have rented numerous houses with groups during that time period and this is the best experience I've had by a long shot. A few friends from the US were coming to visit, so with that in mind my priorities were a place with stuff to do in the ocean, an owner a trusted and liked, and a good community that represents the best of El Salvador. The beach outside the house has much smaller waves due to a line of rocks around the cove that the rocks crash into, by the time they reach the shore they are a fraction of their original size. Their are 4 kayaks at the house which we made full use of during our time there. I also brought my surf boards and the little waves turned out to be perfect for learning how to surf. They had a boogie board at the house which my friends used as well. Their also seemed to be much more all around the ocean that places further west along the coast in El Salvador. The owner was immediate with his responses and genuinely cared that I had a good time. He even called once while I was there to make sure everything was going well and to let me know where the best surf was because he knew that was a priority and I think the caretaker told him I wasn't having the best luck. He was very willing to also set up tours and make sure that we had everything we needed and wanted while staying at the house. Finally, the community was amazing. The caretaker is a middle aged man named Mauricio who takes care of the place with his wife and two daughters. There are a few others from the community that get involved in the coco collecting and the fish for our meals. They are extremely good cooks as well. We had fish for both nights that we stayed and chicken for lunch on our second day. A neighbor even did a turtle release right on the beach in front of our house. People must not choose this house because of the distance (its about a 2.5 hour drive from San Salvador), but I have to say that the drive is totally worth it! The views were great, we surfed waves on kayaks, surfboards, and boogies boards, we saw amazing sunsets and wildlife, we at amazing fish, and it was great for relaxing too. Not lost on me was how genuine and local the experience was. The caretakers family, the dogs morning ocean ritual, the cows strutting up and down the beach, the random football games on the beach, it was all too perfect. I was really sad to leave and can't wait to go back soon!

Herzlichen Dank für die wunderschöne Zeit, die wir in Eurer Oase verbringen durften. Für diejenigen, die auch einmal gerne hier Urlaub machen möchten: Das von Palmen umgebene große Strandhaus liegt direkt an einem einsamen Strand und bietet somit Erholung pur. Der Strand lädt zu langen Strandspaziergängen ein. Es gibt einen felsigen Bereich im Meer, in dem man, wenn sich das Wasser zurückzieht, schnorcheln und dabei ungeahnt viele bunte Fische beobachten kann. Wir haben auch die Kanus ausprobiert und konnten draußen am Meer die Fischer und sogar Austerntaucher bei der Arbeit beobachten. Auch ich möchte betonen, wie nett und fürsorglich sich Mauricio und Marina um uns gekümmert haben. Sie haben maßgeblich dazu beigetragen, dass unser Aufenthalt unvergeßlich wurde. There are experiences so magical that get even better as you repeat them. Last week was our second time in this one of a kind get away. At first we hesitated since we wanted to get to know a different place but as soon as we settled in we knew we had called it right. The house and Maculis are so enrapturing that we enjoyed everything even more so this second time - walking and running on the beach, snorkling, the food, the wonderful family of Mauricio and Marina, and the new and very comfortable hut right in front of the ocean! We felt so good we even ventured into the ocean in the available kayaks, and we loved it (just make sure, if new to this, to get proper instructions from Mauricio). The Oasis in Maculis is definitely an experience to repeat!!
