Angeles, 5 Km. away has a small grocery store, Flamboyan, with charcoal, cleaning supplies, and an ATM. You will also come across 2 bakeries, a gas station, a couple of restaurants, and a weekend rotisserie with great chicken and creamy yuca (a must try dish)! Lares is 30 min. away featuring bigger stores and the best 'under the bridge' stuffed potatoes and frappes we have ever had!! This is a country home in a tranquil area where nightlife, beaches and Walmart are an hour away. UPDATE: Status of Camuy Caverns and Lagos Dos Bocas need to be checked because of the hurricane. Most other sites are back to normal. Gozalandia trails and waterfall with a nice swimming hole is in the vicinity of San Sebastian. Please GOOGLE and PHONE for information. Read the first few pages of the guest and house booklet for important comments. More

Interaction with guests
WATER : Municipal water supply gets interrupted often. Nobody seems to really understand why. When (not if) this happens TURN THE SWITCH BETWEEN THE KITCHEN CABINETS for the amount of time you think you need to access the spare water tanks. These are usually short term interruptions but a time to be conservative. Only drink municipal water and refill water jugs when municipal water is back on. Ask Ferdy about this. PLEASE DO NOT USE WASHING MACHINE UNLESS YOU ASK FERDY FIRST! DO NOT STRIP LINENS FROM BEDS!

About the neighbourhood
Country with a smattering of tourists; mostly locals of Puerto Rican descent who are very warm, friendly and eager to help and you will be surprised how easy it is to communicate. Ferdy, your friendly and helpful manager lives nearby and will be about the only person you should be seeing and chatting with at times on the property.
Getting around
All roads are paved but you will encounter potholes and unevenness. Most roads in the mountains are very curvy and narrow so allow enough extra time to get to your destination. Recommend not driving at night because of occasional pot holes and you will get lost. Stay on the paved roads. Hurricane Maria ravaged many areas in Puerto Rico therefore you will be witnessing ongoing repair.
