Kangaroos often visit in the early morning or early evening, birds in abundance frequent the area e.g. New Holland Honeyeaters, Kookaburras, Blue Wrens, Port Lincoln Parrot, Red Robins, Barking owls, water birds on the dam plus many more. We are very close to National Parks, walks and bridle paths, plus the Millbrook Winery is close by. LOCATION: The town of Jarrahdale is one of the State's oldest settlements, set in the Darling Range and surrounded by peaceful bushland. The town is only an hour south of Perth and thirty minutes south of Armadale or east of Rockingham. You can go for a walk in the bush, a picnic, a mountain bike ride or just enjoy a coffee in the hills. There are many ideas on this website,, which is maintained by the Jarrahdale Heritage Society. The Old Post Office Museum is a good place to start your visit. There are many interesting research tools in the Museum, collections of family facts and photographs, things to amaze and remind you of Jarrahdale's past. Many of the walks start from this point. Social events, sporting events and things to keep you amused. Feel free to call in and enjoy the museum run by friendly and helpful volunteers.More
