Yurt
In the hills on the eastern edge of the Yorkshire Dales, a family farm invites you to come and meet the residents. The cows live just across from the Yurts, the they all have their own private hot tubs, loos and showers. The pigs, goats and llamas can be fed if you join the 8:30am farmer’s rounds and the cows always need mucking out, if you feel like really getting your hands dirty. Wilder countryside awaits too, with the Dales on your doorstep for hiking and the route between Redmire and Aysgarth falls a particular local favourite. Back home at Larch Yurt, you can raid Berry’s Farm Shop for local treats for the BBQ, order up a cool box of beers and head to your private hot tub. You’ll adjust to a slower pace of life, setting the fire and wrapping yourself in blankets as you sit outside where the peace and unspoilt skies are the only entertainment you need. If the hot tub and tranquility just aren’t enough, then ease those final knots of urban tension by arranging a Reiki session or head massage.

Amazing weekend
We (4 and a dog) arrived Fri eve after great info and comms from Tim. Everything set up and hot tub prepped. He came to check we’d settled and gave us tops about the area, walking routes and eating places. The yurt set up was brilliant, sleeping for 5 people and with a wood burner inside, a firepit outside plus a gas bbq and of course the wood fired hot tub, with plenty of wood provided plus everything you need to safely light them. Loved the wheelbarrow to help carry the bags. And the wc and shower were amazing; was able to have a shower in the sunshine when I left the doors open (very private). We had breakfast at Berry’s cafe and walked to Wensley via footpaths to the 3 Horse Shoes which was lovely then booked a taxi with Chris (the lovely taxi driving cyclist) back to The Fox & Hounds for a sunny meal in the beer garden before Chris collected us again and dropped us back at our yurt for another dip in the hot tub. Tim stayed in contact throughout to make sure we were ok and we had a magical weekend blessed with beautiful Yorkshire weather.

Quirky and relaxing with fabulous views.❤️
Just home after the weekend spent at The Temple Folly ,West Witton for my partners birthday What a fabulous place to kick back and relax . The building itself is extrememly special. Originally built as a hunting lodge , its perfect for a couple to enjoy some peace and quiet . It has evrything you can ask for with the added bonus of a hot tub and the fabulous views across to Bolton Castle . We were bathed in glorious sunshine . And enjoyed walks along the river to Redmire Force the first day . And over to Cauldron Falls over in West Burton the next day .The hot tub was warmed for our arrival and was a great way to relax in after a days walking. And the firepit keeps you warm as the evening cools down giving you opportunity to watch the stars . I can't recommend this place enough. Equally I'd like to thank the team, especially Tim who was extremely helpful and on hand if we needed anything . A blissful weekend spent in a beautiful part of the world .

Wensleydale Experience -family time
Excellent site manager (Tim), who was extremely helpful throughout the duration of our stay-he even invited our children to feed the lambs! A very relaxing atmosphere for some perfect family time. Some love walks close by. We also loved our family reiki and massage experience with Elizabeth at 'The Healing Collective'.😊

Fab Farm Experience 🐮
What a day we’ve all had!! Tim has given us the best experience and he was so informative along the way. It really is a hands on experience and you get up close and personal with all the animals. It’s a place you NEED to visit if you’re near by. Thanks so much Tim!

Lovely, relaxing weekend in the most beautiful setting.
We stayed in Oak lodge. Lovely spot with fabulous views and sheep/lambs as our neighbours. The yurts are far enough apart to feel private/secluded and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The shower was great! Prior to, and upon check in/out, Tim was friendly and helpful. We did have a couple of minor issues with the door and the hot tub not being up to temperature for when we arrived (we’d paid the extra charge for this) Tim dealt with these issues really quickly and provided extra logs for the wood fired hog tub. it didn’t affect our stay in any way. We did the half day farm experience on the Saturday morning. This was the highlight of my weekend. Feeding and moving the animals and some off roading in the old Land Rover. Breakfast in the cafe was lovely and part of the package. Tim is a great host and I honestly don’t know how he manages everything he does on farm. We had some awful weather (heavy wind and rain which sounded much worse inside the yurt) both nights but that didn’t stop us having a wonderful stay and I would definitely return.

Farming experience
I was surprised with a half a day farm experience for my birthday! I had no idea what the morning would be, Tim was welcoming and friendly. Lots of hands on involved and the best part for me was meeting the Highland cows 😍. Tim had great knowledge regarding the surrounding area and farming. Lovely breakfast included. We will definitely be back in May to see the new Highlands Cows. Perfect gift 🎁

Dovecote & Farm Experience
We stayed at the Dovecote and did the half day Farm Experience. Absolutely magical! Tim was really informative and Gav, bill & Ben the goats accompanied us most of the time which was lovely. Learnt alot and would highly recommend it to anyone. The Dovecote is just fantastic... Luxury off grid. We normally stay at The Folly next door (also owned by them) and will find it difficult to choose which one to stay at next time. Thank you Bridget, Tim and team for a magical few days away..we will be back.

Great glamping and farm experience
Well-appointed yurts situated in the middle of a working farm in the Dales. We had two yurts for our little family getaway: Hazel (dog friendly) and Rowan. Both spaces had lovely views of the farm and rolling hills, and were outfitted with everything needed for comfortable glamping (a nice bed, USB charging ports, a BBQ, hot shower, flushing toilet, and a small hob in the yurt for making tea). The wood-fired hot tub was a great added touch of luxury! Tim really went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed. We loved the farm tour (got to feed some very cute lambs, pigs, and chickens), and were lucky enough to get a safari-style ride to the top of the farm as a giveaway prize for being Wensleydale Experience's 3000th Instagram follower! Tim was really knowledgeable about the whole area and we learned a lot. Definitely adhere to the guidebook recommendations and bring an extra towel for the hot tub and an extra blanket for the bed. We'd also advise guests to bring basic cooking ingredients like butter, oil, salt, and pepper. This is a great getaway for families or couples looking to go glamping and experience life on a working farm. We very much enjoyed our visit!

Hen Weekend
Just got home from a 2 night stay for my daughters hen weekend. There were 10 of us and had the best time. The yurts are fantastic and the views equally so. The host was brilliant and couldn't do enough for us. I would highly recommend a stay here

The Temple Folly
Have just spent 4 nights at Temple Folly with my husband. We thoroughly enjoyed it. After staying in the yurts here before we fancied something different. We weren't disappointed. Such a quirky and unique place to stay. Very peaceful. Had everything we needed with the most beautiful views and wildlife that could be spotted from just sitting outside around the fire bowl. Would definitely return 🙂
