Great Stay at Prospect Barn !
Stayed at Prospect Barn 16th September for 3 nights , was really impressed with the barn , lovely and clean. Ideal for a quiet break in the Dales. Everything was how Mike described and said it would be. I would have no hesitation in recommending prospect Barn to anyone looking for a nice break away. Wi - fi signal wasnt great in some parts of barn but it wasnt a problem . I would love to visit in the future at some point. Thanks again Mike , lovely stay , Kind Regards, Joe.

It did what it had said on it's tin.
Very comfortable and enjoyable stay and the COVID precautions/preparations were excellent. Yes, the wifi signal was a bit tricky but what's wrong with sitting at the kitchen table to use your laptop? For one thing it means your posture is better than using it when you're flopped on the sofa! Beware of the dripping spout teapot!

Great barn - when there's electricity
A really lovely barn; beautifully converted, spacious, well equipped, very comfortable, wonderful views and centrally located in the Dales. We were so pleased when we walked in – the photos online don’t do it justice. Whilst it is clear that the wi-fi is subject to connectivity from the adjacent main house, do be prepared to only be able to connect in the barn’s kitchen and close to the window. Luckily, the village had good 4G coverage. The major problem we experienced (and why the barn didn’t get 5 stars) is the inadequacy of the electrical power supply - the barn is totally electric. We had 4 occasions when the power went off in the mornings, at breakfast time. The owner was initially very helpful and came over sometime later on the first 3 times and ‘re-set the smart meter’ which ‘appears to be the gremlin’. (quotes from his text messages). However, the 4th time, he says he didn’t receive the text I sent (although my phone shows it delivered). This was the morning we were leaving and so we just packed up and went – without any breakfast. The real irritation on this 4th occasion is that there is an inference that I was lying, as the owner claims, in an email to me, that everything was up and running when he went over there later. He also says that he is ‘not responsible for the power outages, as inconvenient as they were’ and he is ‘of the opinion they did everything expected of them in the circumstances.’ The bottom line, as their customer, is that I expect to be able to use the kitchen, have heating and hot water in a self catering property. One evening, there was a total power outage in the village for 4 hours; this was absolutely nothing to do with the barn, but I checked with the power supplier about the other times and they assured me there had been no other problems. The owner, however, has blamed them and said that he is not responsible and would not consider any gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience we had. So, if you choose to stay here, be prepared for the power to go off!

Initially I would like to thank these Guests for their positive feedback on what the 'Barn' as to offer as a Self Catering Holiday Barn Conversion which generally mirrors that of previous Guests who have stayed with us and I would request that you keep this at the forefront of your thinking and decision making when considering the 'Barns' suitability to meet your needs Regrettably these Guests, during their stay with us, experienced unprecedented National Grid Power Outages coupled with Grid Phase Outages to keep the Village on line as the Power was moved between Sub Stations to effect repairs to the Main Overhead Supply Cabling damaged by recent storms, this subsequently being confirmed by our Energy Supplier from the data recorded on the Smart Meter Sim Card following my requests to have the Meter inspected for a fault I am sure the greater majority of Review Readers will agree that National Grid Power Outages, due to storm damage, are inconvenient at anytime and certainly when on holiday but I can only reiterate that they are out of my control but I am pleased to report that subsequent Guests have been in the property with out any Power or Wi Fi issues since the repairs to the Overhead Supply Cabling have been undertaken by the National Grid NDO Therefore, I would ask all future prospective Guests to overview all reviews for the property to determine if the property suits their needs and rest assured that should any issues arise during your stay with us I will respond with support as confirmed by these Guests and previous Visitors to the 'Barn' ... but I can only do what I can do!

Comfy Barn in West Witton
West Witton was the perfect place for our four day break in the Dales, used it as a base to complete the Six Dales Trail and take in the surrounding walks and scenery. This area never disappoints, so much to do and see - the barn was clean, comfortable and well equipt for two people, lovely garden with splendid views across the valley and all the basics were there. The Wensleydale Heifer was superb for evening meals and Berrys Farm Shop (just a mile down the road towards Asgarth) serve a lovely breakfast. Would recommend.

Peace
This is a high quality barn conversion in a beautiful area. I visited to get some peace and quiet whilst I finished a uni assignment and it didn't disappoint. The check-in, and check-out process, was the simplest and most stress-free that I have encountered. In the barn; the kitchen was really well-equipped with amenities and crockery - there was even a dishwasher to remove the chore of washing up; the living room was lovely and the TV had Sky; the bedroom was comfortable and cosy; and the bathroom was clean and equipped with a hot, powerful shower. Although the internet connection was weak, it just about managed to do what I needed of it. There was also a large garden with a bbq and garden furniture, but unfortunately the weather didn't allow us to take advantage of this. It was a shorter drive than expected into Leyburn, where there was a Co-op and a lovely Indian restaurant. Hawes wasn't too far in the opposite direction and there was an excellent pub (The Wheatsheaf) about ten minutes away. I would say this restaurant is worth driving to instead of visiting the pub over the road. Overall, a lovely three day break and we would definitely return - hopefully work free!

High Spec Barn Conversion
A wonderful stay in a quiet village with some stunning views over Wensleydale. The Barn was spacious and well laid out with good quality furnishings, we eat out but felt that the kitchen was very well equipped with a small barbecue in the garden. Good communication from the agent and no problems whatsoever. Plenty of off-road parking and who cars about Wi-fi on holiday:-) We had an extremely active holiday with walking at Malham Cove, Aysgarth Falls, along the River Ure, Pen-y-Ghent and more relaxed visits to White Scar caves, Ribblehead viaduct, Dent, Hawes and Leybourn - weather was absolutely glorious. Even managed a quick visit to Black Sheep Brewery on way home. Love Yorkshire, everyone was so friendly and both Fox and Hounds and Wensleydale Heifer were excellent for evening meals.

Perfect Stay
This was our third stay at Prospect Barn and yet again everything was perfect. The barn is situated in the beautiful Wensleydale village of West Witton which is handy for visiting Leyburn, Hawes and Swaledale. Aysgarth Falls is just up the road. The barn accommodates two people and is very clean and spacious. The kitchen is particularly well-equipped and includes a washing-machine and dishwasher. The tv in the lounge has Sky with Sports and Movie channels available. We were lucky with the weather this time which enabled us to enjoy sitting in the lovely garden with stunning view. We can’t wait to return.
