This cottage sleeps nine people in four bedrooms, consisting of two ground floor doubles, one of which has an en-suite shower, a first floor double and a first floor family room with three single beds. The cottage also has a ground floor bathroom and first floor shower room, along with a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with open fire. Outside there's off road parking for two cars, roadside parking and lawned gardens. Springwood Cottage is a lovely base for exploring this part of the Emerald Isle. Fuel, power and starter pack for fire inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot and highchair. Off road parking for 2 cars, plus roadside parking to front of property. Front lawned garden. Rear lawned garden with patio and furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 8 mins walk. Beach 8 mins walk. Please note check in is 4pm and check out is 11am Region: The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores. Town: Louisburgh is a small town in County Mayo, surrounded by rural scenary, with three Blue Flag beaches, along with being close to Sheaffrey and Mweelrea Mountains. You may wish to take a ferry from Roonagh Pier to Clare Island, or maybe enjoy the traditional Féile Chois Cuain, a May Bank Holiday music festival.

Not what we expected!
Very dissapointed with the lack of cleanliness of this cottage. At some point this would have probably been a lovely place to stay...however sadly on our arrival we found the floors had not been cleaned. The gas cooker was dirty and unusable. One of the rings on the top was faulty and the fridge had a horrible smell to it. This house had some beautiful furniture and accessories, however the cleaning had not been daily upkept and cushions and throws had stains and were grubby. There were a whole list of concerns about this property and the owner offered for the cleaner to come back and hoover at some point through our stay, however in my opinion the whole house needed a deep clean. Broken toys in the garden and cigerette ends( meant to be a no smoking cottage) have put us off returning again. We were offered a little discount for any further bookings at the cottage. We were advised by Skye to ask for a 25 % refund, then we were informed by another member of customer services that we were not going to be entitled to any refund. The lack of cleanliness spoilt the holiday for us adults, however the children thankfully enjoyed the days on the beautiful beaches in the area and the extra meals out we had to purchase whilst not using the cooker! We wont be returning to Springwood cottage and wont be using Skyes cottages either to book further holidays. Very dissapointed in the lack of empathy shown.

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry that you encountered some issues at the cottage. We believe the property had been cleaned thoroughly prior to your stay, but had we been made aware of any issues at the start, we would have been happy to send someone round again for you. Whilst we do have a no smoking policy, some people do still smoke outside unfortunately and must have left some cigarette ends outside. These can get missed as there is little time during a changeover to check through the garden. The same applies to the toys as we can only assume a guest may have left toys for others to play with but we cannot guarantee they will be checked each time to ensure they are working; apologies if these were missed. We take great pride in our cottage as evidenced by the excellent feedback we normally receive. I am sorry this was not the experience you had but do hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise.
