We booked this last minute. We were blown away when we arrived. Great accommodation and a friendly welcome. The standard of the interior is very high and if like us you prefer to eat in, the kitchen has everything you will need. The only way the kitchen could be like home is if it had kitchen scales! Nice welcome touch with the scones, clotted cream, jam, Cornish fairings, tea and even milk in the fridge. The beds for both the children and adults were very comfortable. My eldest son loved the full set of Harry Potter films, my youngest son liked the chickens and the adults were impressed with the location. You can explore Cornwall from here and return at the end of the day to peace and quiet.

This cottage is so much more than a holiday cottage. It has evey thing you could possibly need for a week a way. It is extremely clean and comfortable. The village is lovely. The cream tea on arrival was so very special. We only wanted to find a place for a family wedding but we also have had a great time and will be coming back in the summer

About the neighbourhood
Reputed to be one of the oldest villages in Cornwall, Mithian (Cornish: Mydhyen) is a picturesque village, full of character and charm where each building has its own individual story to tell.

The village is served by The Miners Arms, a 16th century pub that has had many varied uses over the years including a smugglers lair - the pub still has the original smuggling tunnel running under the road to the Old Manor House opposite.

Other buildings in the village are heavily linked to the areas mining heritage, such as the Rose-in-Vale Hotel which is originally thought to have been built as a winter home by Captain John Oates, the owner of the Wheal Leisure Copper mine in nearby Perranporth.

Mithian with its stunning countryside is the perfect setting for a romantic break or a family holida...
