Rose Cottage was perfect holiday base for touring the area. We would definitely stay again. The view is excellent. Spectacular as the moon rose. Garden terrific for our dog. Cottage is set back from a lane with little osssing traffic. Very private and quiet. Fab beach just a couple of minutes away in the car.
Started and ended each day there.
Des was extremely efficient.

Rose Cottage Rental May 2018
This house was a great experience for our group of friends. The location is very accessible to Ballinskelligs and the Valentia, and Portmagee areas.
The house has great facilities, is very spacious facilities and offered good value for money. We will certainly use it again if we return to Ballinskelligs for a holiday.
Des our host was very approachable and efficiently addressed any of our queries with booking and check in.

Would book nowhere else in the future.
Recently stayed here for a week whilst on a family reunion to this amazing place on Earth.
The cottage is simply perfect & ticked every single box that we wanted. Very spacious & never felt crowded.
Has all the amenities that you would expect.
Walking distance to the beach & the pub.
An unexpected highlight is the night sky. One night, the sky was clear & because of low light pollution, it was simply magical. i have never seen so many stars. The whole family sat outside & just stared into space. it was simply amazing.
You will not regret staying here, it has everything you need & the views over the bay are gorgeous. I could happily wake up to the view every morning for the rest of my life.

perfect location, delightfully large cottage, great holiday
Rose Cottage ticked all our boxes--close to a great beach, near 2 pubs and with a garden to suit 2 large dogs and 2 very active kids. When it rained there was the upstairs games room and downstairs a huge living area.
Dess ,the owner was very helpful and our family group of 8 all agreed that a return trip was a definite.
Thanks for a grand holiday see you again ,
The Thomas family.

Perfect location for touring around the Ring of Kerry and Dingle.
Loved staying at the Rose Cottage in Ballinskeligs. We stayed for 3 days and toured around the Ring of Kerry as well as Dingle. Took the Skelig Ring over to Dingle and was able to take different routs back to the house so we were able to not miss anything in Kerry. We were blessed with the best weather as well so it made for perfect views for a quiet evening.

Perfect retreat
We loved our stay at Rose cottage, it had everything we needed. We arrived with our 2 year old in typical stormy Irish weather but there was plenty of fuel to start a fire in the stunning fireplace and the central heating kept the cottage well heated. Plenty of fresh towels and even fresh herbs on the windowsill. We didn't want for anything our son has fallen in love with the place and did not want to leave, will definitely be returning. Thank you Des for all the fuel.

Toller Urlaub
Danke!!!

Great location, dog friendly
Stayed with family ranging from 80 years to 15 years. House great size and allows everyone to have their own space. Our dogs loved the garden and the house is very dog friendly. The walk to the Ballinskelligs beach takes more like 15 mins but worth it. Go early to avoid people and have the beach to yourselves for dog walking. Another option is to go to the beach on the way to Waterville - stunning is the only word to describe it and mostly empty but it doesn't have any café/toilet facilities like Ballinskelligs beach. I don't know the name of it but ask the owner and he can help you out. Cottage is in great location for visiting other places in the area. We particularly enjoyed the trip to Valencia Island. Caherisveen didn't hold much but QC's seafood restaurant offered the best fish and chips I have ever tasted - definitely worth the visit. Waterville and Portmagee were both nice and the places to go if you want to pick up some gifts. Being picky I would say the house is a bit tired and could do with some TLC (missing plugs for sinks, curtain hooks missing, shower heads not staying up) - all minor but should I feel have been sorted before our stay. There was also no wifi which was a disappointment for our 15 year old but it was nice to see him out walking and reading books for a change! The tv and playstation upstairs also weren't working but we didn't complain as we didn't miss them and I'm sure Dez the owner would have sorted for us if we had asked. Overall, we had a really lovely week, despite the weather, and would recommend this cottage if you are planning to visit Co Kerry.

Thank you for your review, Sorry about the little bits and pieces but i have them all sorted. We had problems with wifi as we cannot get fibre wifi and are reliant on sattelite wifi. we are presently getting a new connection so hopefully this will be sorted as well. The beach on the way to Waterville is called Reenroe beach and the whole area got a great boost yesterday as it was named one of the top 10 places in the world to visit on a lonely Planet category. Hope to see you back again

Relaxing and relaxing and beautiful vacation
The house is spacious and comfortable. The location is beautiful with a view of the ocean. The weather is cooler and rainier than we're used to in Michigan summers. This did not affect our enjoyment at all or stop us from going outside and hiking, but I said here's so people from similar climates will be aware.

Ballinskelligs is a quiet beautiful countryside just off the famous Ring of Kerry. The nearby towns are Caherciveen and Waterville (famous for magnificent 18 hole golf course and superb sea and fresh water fishing). Both these towns are only a 15 minute drive away. The long sandy beach is a haven for all ages and its blue flag status makes it very safe for all members of the family.
Visit the local chocolate factory where you can witness the famous Skellig Chocolates being made and then sample some of these delicious delights. A visit to the Cill Rialaig famine village and artists' retreat is a must, where you can meet artists from all over the world working on their masterpieces. Horse riding, canoeing and wind surfing are just a few of the local amenities. Take a trip to the world famous Skellig Rock or take in some angling in safe waters. Ballinskelligs pier with safe mooring facilities is nearby. You will not be bored in wonderful Ballinskelligs and you will go home totally refreshed.
