Free (private) Wifi throughout the house for keeping in touch whilst in paradise!
Our lovely modern kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need for a self catering holiday including; kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, smoothie maker, oven, hob, dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge freezer with ice maker and plentiful plates, dishes and glasses for a pre-dinner rum punch! Beautiful granite worktops are throughout and form a fabulous breakfast bar for informal eating. Through to the dining area there is a ceiling fan to keep you cool in the evenings with a dining table & chairs for 6 people.. From here you can open the french doors which lead out onto the large covered terrace where you can enjoy a dip in our brand new pool area which really completes our wonderfuly property! Lie back and r whilst listen to the birds, watch the green monkeys or spot the beautiful hummingbirds which visit our lovely garden.
Back into the living area, there is a sofa and 2 chairs for sitting back, relaxing and catching up on the news from home! This area also benefits from a ceiling fan. We have a brilliant TV system with all UK/US/Canadian/Sport channels as well as a great selection of movies to watch.
And finally for your convenience, there is a downstairs powder room & an understairs cupboard housing iron / ironing board and other useful items.
As you ascend the wooden staircase you will look up to see a wonderful vaulted ceiling - one of my favourite aspects of this house! There are 3 bedrooms; bedroom 1 at the top of the stairs has 2 single beds (can be pushed together if needed) fitted wardrobes with full length hanging & plentiful shelving. The en-suite shower room has a very large walk in shower, w/c & vanity unit. There are french doors which open onto a private balcony overlooking the tennis court & swimming pool beyond, with a lovely little view inland too! There is air conditioning & a ceiling fan for your comfort.
Bedroom 2 at the rear of the property also has twin beds which can come together if needed, it has fully fitted wardrobes and shelving for 2 & a lovely en-suite with an impressive vaulted ceiling! The balcony from this room overlooks the rear garden & trees beyond. This bedroom also benefits from air conditioning & a ceiling fan.
The master bedroom is a great size and has a (UK) king size bed (or a US queen size) and again ample wardrobe space for 2 with full height hanging & lots of shelving. With another wonderful vaulted ceiling this is my favourite room... the en-suite is huge and has a twin marble vanity unit, & huge walk-in shower & w/c. The master bedroom has air conditioning & a ceiling fan and the balcony overlooks the rear garden & trees beyond.
We also have a large electronic safe should you wish to store your valuables during your holiday.

In an effort to make your stay as 'green' as possible, we ask that you please respect our efforts to keep electricity usage at a minimum. We still expect you to use all you need for your comfort, we just want to ensure that all a/c units / ceiling fans and lights are not left on all day when you are away from the property.
If we feel that your electricity usage is excessive and shows that the a/c has been left on continually, your security deposit will be at risk - please use responsibly.

Interaction with guests:Â As we live in the UK, we are not close by but we have a great Property Manager who looks after the property in our absence - she will be on hand should you have any problems at all.
*HOUSEKEEPING*
You will be expected to take care of your own day to day laundry requirements (towels etc) as there is a good quality washing machine at the property. Housekeeping will be provided once a week to clean the property and change the bed linen if required.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY
Please do not exceed the maximum occupancy of the house.
We stayed here for two weeks and had an amazing time from booking, right through. We had to move our booking by 3 months and this accommodated immediately and Joanne was so helpful.
The villa far exceeded our expectations. The plunge pool was bigger than we imagined and we enjoyed it daily. Beach chairs were available to take with us.
It took 5-10 mins to walk to the beach, a small grocery and a French bakery.
The accommodation was large and spacious with multiple areas to sit and relax. There were loads of books (we added a couple), games, pool and beach toys, cooking equipment, towels, etc.
The gated community feels safe and friendly and is very peaceful. We
Enjoyed listening to the whistling frogs and bird and watching the sun go down.
There was a lovely large barbecue which we had planned to use but didn’t get round to it. The fridge had an ice and water dispenser, which was so handy.
All in all this place is perfection in paradise with fabulous owners. Marcia, who looked after us during our stay was responsive (there were emergency water works repairs on one day and our water was switched off) and the house keeper did a brilliant and thorough job.

Great Place to stay and relax and explore Barbados
The accommodation is spacious and has everything you need. Joanne's booklet is so helpful and informative that if you wish you can plan your days ahead with ease, but also simply recharge and use the pools when you wish. Holetown and the beaches are a walk or easy bus ride away, very easy. After a few days we hired a car from MAH and they were very helpful and a great price, they threw in SAT NAV for free and they bring the car to the house, with this we spent a few days exploring the islands beaches, attractions and other coasts- wonderful. The house is in a gated community with a great housekeeper. When you get there help and advice is on hand! Everything is on hand to take any immediate stress away and Barbados and its people does the rest!

Great host. Roomy townhouse. The small pool was perfect. Great location as you can walk to the beach in about 5 minutes and into Holetown in about 10 minutes. We’d definitely stay here again.

Great location and equipped with everything you need
My husband and I stayed here at the beginning of January. Joanne the host was excellent. She was very informative and the information supplied allowed us to immediately start to enjoy our holiday. The beach was a short walk away and Holetown was a short bus ride away, a very easy experience due to Joanne explaining the procedure! Would not hesitate to recommend.

AMAZING
What an amazing country Barbados is, and the locals just as amazing! and the villa from Joanne & Ian was absolutely perfect, very very spacious, and had all we needed and more, the location was spot on, everything from the start of our trip to then end of our trip was fabulous, so much so we have booked again for next year! Our new holiday place and destination from now on ! Thankyou jo and Ian x

Great home for a family in a lovely safe community!
We stayed here for 2 and half months and completely relaxed. Jo is an awesome host that is great with communication. She works closely with a property manager that lives in Barbados so between them, they supported us with everything we needed throughout the stay.
The house was well stocked with everything you would need for cooking, living etc. Even had some stuff for the beach.
We stayed here as we came to Barbados on the welcome stamp. My husband was working and I was looking after them kids. Porters gate is a lovely gated community with a mixture of long term people living and holiday makers.
We used the pool on a daily basis which was loved by the kids. We also went to Folkestone Beach a lot which is about 20minutes walk or 2 minutes in the car. My son had his 5th birthday party down on the beach. When you arrive at Folkestone, walk left down the boardwalk to the end, here was our favorite place, quiet, calm sea and idyllic!
The house is a 20minute walk into Holetown to the nearest Massey's (supermarket) or 5minute walk to la baguette (amazing bakery) or the happy place (small store) with basics that you need if you didn't have a car.
We would recommend staying here, great value for a safe, happy stay in Barbados.

We had a wonderful long stay at PalmView in February and March this year. The communication with Joanne was prompt and efficient and by the end of our stay I felt a real camaraderie had developed between us. The townhouse is very nicely furnished in a tasteful manner The kitchen was well equipped and came with a thoughtful basket of goodies. The pool was in good condition and a great way to meet other guests. The 3 ensuite bedrooms were spacious and gave us privacy.
There is a tennis court but one of our party couldn't find anyone to play with!!!
It is a pleasant walk to the beach and we also explored lots of other beaches. The bus system is at times chaotic but it gets you there for a reasonable cost
We did our main shopping in Holetown at Massy's and at Jordan's in Speightstown
We enjoyed the Farmers Market at Holders Hill on Saturday. There was a wonderful selection of restaurants around from expensive to more moderate costs. One of the other reviewers mentioned the lovely French bakery within walking distance and the veggie van nearby. Both very worthwhile visiting.
I could continue praising Palmview but I'm afraid it won't be available for us once I give it out 5* plus review.

Great 3 bedroomed accommodation all en-suite.
Great accommodation in a tranquil and safe gated community with a shared pool, tennis court and peaceful garden.
We spent every evening sitting on the deck until bedtime enjoying listening to the tropical sounds of the night and didn’t turn the television on once, so relaxing so refreshing. There is no air conditioning in the living area but by leaving the back and front doors open there was always a lovely breeze going through the house and onto the deck. There is air conditioning in the bedrooms but we only used it for a few minutes before bedtime.
The best beaches in Barbados are a 10 minute walk away and a French bakery even closer. Out side the bakery a lovely lady sells vegetables and eggs from a van on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
There is no need to have a car as the bus stop is a couple of minutes away and the buses are frequent and cheap. I would advise not getting on a bus unless there is a seat as their driving can be quite erratic, better to wait a few minutes for the next bus.
Massy supermarket is in Holetown which is a few minutes on the bus or a lovely half hour stroll along the beach with lots of eating , banking and shopping options.
You can walk from the house to several restaurants, Juju’s for drinks at sunset and casual dining on the beach, Top Deck for middle of the road dining and the more expensive Lone Star restaurant.
We enjoyed eating at Zaccios and Tides in Holetown but our favourite restaurant was La Cabane on Batts Rock beach South of Fitts Village where they serve food prepared with care and passion served in casual surroundings under the trees overlooking the sea. Make sure you book as it’s popular.
We had a great holiday and would recommend staying here, Joanne kept us well informed both before and during our stay.

Perfect family-friendly holiday home
Based in a safe and friendly townhouse community with lovely pool and tennis court - and just a 5 minute walk to the main drag to catch a ride into Holetown and only 10mins walk to beautiful beaches - this spacious rental was home to our family of four for 2 months and we absolutely loved it! The owner (Joanne) is just wonderful - super speedy with comms and resolved any little issues we had with incredible efficiency. She has equipped the house with everything you could need for a short or long-term stay - along with a comprehensive guidebook of the house and things to do in the area and around the island. Being in the tropics there are lots of mozzies in the area so be sure to pack plenty of repellent. Would love to return one day!

Palm View is within a quiet gated community one block back from the main west coast road so is in an ideal location! Lovely and peaceful yet only a minutes walk to the bus stop for getting around the island! Only a short walk to a stunning beach for swimming, snorkelling and relaxing! A short walk to beach bars and famous 'Lonestar' restaurant!
Getting around
It’s a great idea to hire a car if you want to really get out and about and explore this beautiful island. However, as we are so close to the beach and a bus stop, you really don’t have to have a car!
