Maritime on Moonlight Bay is an incredibly beautiful estate, with jaw-dropping views. Covered in flowering fynbos,the property stretches from the famous Hangklip Mountain to the Atlantic Ocean below. The 454-metre Hangklip Mountain, at times covered in a tablecloth of cloud, stands sentinel between False Bay and Walker Bay. Hangklip (Hanging Rock) was and still is, a significant landmark for ancient mariners and seafarers today. Black Eagles soar against the mountain skyline, while rare Cormorants, Black Oyster Catchers, Cape Rock Jumpers, and Sand Pipers hug the coastline below. Leopards, Mountain Rhebuck, Klipspringers, Rock Dassies, Baboons and Cape Clawless Otters also inhabit this reserve. How to get there
MARITIME ON MOONLIGHT BAY: (DIRECTIONS FROM C.T. INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT) Should take less than an hour and a half• TAKE THE N2 EAST TOWARDS SOMERSET WEST & STAY ON THE N2 BUT GO PAST SOMERSET WEST UNTIL YOU NEAR SIR LOWRY PASS ROAD. BEFORE YOU REACH S.L. PASS, TURN RIGHT ON THE R44 (Clarence Drive) TOWARDS GORDONS BAY, KLEINMOND AND HERMANUS. AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES OR SO YOU WILL HEAD INLAND AWAY FROM THE SEA AT ROOIELS A LITTLE FURTHER ON AND YOU WILL SEE THE TURN OFF TO PRINGLE BAY ON THE RIGHT. GO STRAIGHT THROUGH THE TOWN OF PRINGLE BAY UNTIL YOU REACH HANGKLIP DIRVE. CONTINUE UNTIL YOU PASS THE HANGKLIP HOTEL. DRIVE FOR ANOTHER 20 SECONDS AND YOU WILL SEE A STONE SIGN MARKED MARITIME ON MOONLIGHT BAY ON THE LEFT. FOLLOW THE DRIVE UP TO THE HOUSE.
