A three night stay is the minimum break at Willows Barn. Once walking through the topiary framed gate to this property you enter your own private garden of beautiful Suffolk countryside with long views over fields and magnificent 'big sky' landscape. A tennis court is solely yours to play on during your stay. The spacious hot tub is situated in a private and sheltered nook on the south terrace, just a few paces from the door of the barn and is surrounded by its own decking and sheltered with attractive planting. The barn and its garden, hot tub etc are not overlooked at all. For a more leisurely time settle down on the comfy sun loungers or simply eat alfresco on either the sun drenched south facing terrace or on the patio under the dappled shade of the 3 willow trees that give this beautiful barn its name. For those with their golf clubs with them there is plenty of space to chip some ball games before heading off to one of the nearby golf courses. The barn was designed by the owners, on the footprint of traditional agricultural buildings and features local craftsmanship with mullion windows, green oak beams and a vaulted ceiling in the living area along with oak peg joints and small sections of brick walls which are perfectly complimented by modern day comforts such as underfloor heating and stylish appliances with tasteful furnishings including Vanessa Arbuthnott fabrics and Jim Lawrence ironmongery and lighting (the central chandelier hangs majestically in the central vault space and casts a beautiful light during the evening). The property has a large open plan living/dining/kitchen area with a wonderful double-sided wood-burning stove in the centre of the room. The spacious bedroom has a superking bed and a freestanding roll top bath to luxuriate in. The barn is also wonderful during the colder months for romantics and guests needing to de-stress from everyday living. For lazy lie-ins the double oak doors in the bedroom can be opened wide and the woodburner viewed from the bed, perfect for anniversary or honeymoon/wedding breaks. There's an en-suite shower room too with an Aquata corner Shower and heated towel rail and is decorated beautifully with RIBA paints and stylish tiling. With secure and private off road parking it's a great spot. The parking area and short walk to the barn are all well lit with sensor lighting so arrivals late in the evening are re-assuringly easy. The pretty and famous historic market town of Framlingham is a brisk walk away and Framlingham Castle most definitely worth a visit as well as the Tuesday and Saturday markets and fabulous array of shops, restaurants and cafes. All prices include 100% egyptian cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and a home baked treat to help you get your break off to a relaxing start. This detached self-catering Suffolk country holiday cottage boasts appliances that include a large 37” flat screen TV with freesat channels, Blu-ray/DVD player, digital radio with CD player, free WiFi access, and an Ipod docking station. There's a built-in electric Smeg hob and oven, Dualit toaster and kettle, slimline Bosch dishwasher, a Hotpoint washing machine, tall Smeg fridge with a two-shelf freezer and a microwave.More

I think we’ve now stayed at Willows Barn 4 or 5 years running for a long weekend for my wife’s birthday. What’s not to like? Hot tub, massive log burner, underfloor heating, massive super king bed, romantic roll top bath, seclusion, privacy, peace, relaxation, 5...More

Interaction with guests
Our guests are free to arrive at any time they wish from 4pm onwards, whether they have the day off to arrive at 4pm or if travelling after work and want to arrive much later in the evening. All access details are contained in our Arrival information and guests can arrive totally independent of the owners which makes for a very relaxing start to a holiday. Rosalind and Kevin are very happy to come and help out with using the hot-tub or the woodburner or indeed anything to do with the barn during guest stays but are equally very low key and will not disturb you during your stay unless you require our assistance. The owners farmhouse is quite a distance from the barn and so your stay is totally private and not overlooked at all.

About the neighbourhood
The property itself is situated on a quiet country road overlooking fields and other pretty country properties with big sky views that will literally take your breath away. With a sunny south aspect the barn is nestled into its own half acre within the wonderfully landscaped grounds of a Victorian Farmhouse (which is a long way away from the barn) and catches the most wonderful sunsets to the west which are stunning all year round. The peaceful location and the private secure parking to the property ensures that your stay is interruption free. The garden and grounds to the barn are totally private and so guests are able to switch off from the hectic pace of life (if only just for the length of their break!) and maybe enjoy a game or two of tennis on the barn's own court and relax in the...
Getting around
You can walk into Framlingham to catch the buses to many of the local villages/towns, and onto Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds or Norwich for shopping, theatres etc. Car journeys will take you to all the wonderful sights in Framlingham itself or in Woodbridge or along the heritage coast. We provide useful tourist information leaflets in Willows Barn and a list of places to visit in our Arrival details which we send via email once your holiday is booked.
