A short stroll from Sunridge Lodge is our private carp fishing lake. Teeming with carp of all varieties you can angle for a nibble or simply kick back on the lakeshore and let the beautiful natural surroundings work their magic on you. The fishing lake area is shared exclusively between our Sunridge Lodge, Sunridge Treehouse & Sunridge Geodome guests.
The fishing holiday lodge is located in South West Devon, close to a number of beautiful South Devon beaches, as well as Dartmoor National Park and many historic hamlets and villages brimming with local character. Please have a look at the surrounding area for ideas and inspiration.
INSIDE:
Sunridge lodge combines modern interiors with a rustic exterior in keeping with its original river stone construction. Inside, this Devon family holiday cottage is filled to the artfully exposed beams with tantalising features - a super sized HD TV snuggery equipped with an XBOX games console/DVD player not least among them. The bedrooms have their own Smart HD TV and downstairs is luxury drench power shower. If we still haven’t got you (and I must say you take some wooing) there’s also WIFI, a modern German kitchen, under-floor heating, log burner, Bluetooth speakers...(Right, that’s enough, if I still don’t have you, I don’t want you...)
The lodge provides a small library of classic movies and games to get you started but feel free to bring your own personal favourites with you...
OUTSIDE:
The grounds surrounding Sunridge lodge provide a glorious rural backdrop for your Devon escape. Immediately outside your front door is a landscaped garden space complete with mood-lit, 5 seater hot tub.
Accessible from the sheltered garden (or from upstairs in the lodge), there is a large elevated deck space overlooking the lawned hollow and hot tub which is perfect for al fresco dining, while the lodge garden space makes a great location for picnicking and sunbathing. We also have a webber gas barbecue for those clement evenings when the outside is simply too pleasant to resist. Please bring barbi tools with you.
Sunridge fishing lake is only 100 meters away and is home to a large group of swarming carp. On sunny days they enjoy basking on the surface of the lake enjoying the warmth of the overhead sun.
THE HUB:
Just a few strides from the lodge, across your garden space, is a secluded home cinema/entertainment room. This glorious multifunction hub (exclusive to the lodge guests) is for those wanting an extra entertainment space. With a state of the art 4K 3D Ultra HD projector, combined with the very latest Dolby Atmos sound system, you can enter the world of film in the most immersive way possible! The screen itself is enormous, spanning 5 metres in diameter. Why not grab some popcorn and kick back and relax with your favourite movies. With an XBOX games console, Ultra HD blu-ray player and Smart Enabled 50 Inch HDTV with freeview, the hub is filled to the brim with AV gadgets! 4 sets of 3D glasses are included and a small selection of games and movies to get you started. Feel free to bring your own xbox games or movies (blu-ray is the best quality on such an expansive screen).
Theres also a retro arcade machine included in the HUB with over 4000 classic games to keep the kids entertained (or adults!). Complete with 2 stools you can battle out the classics in 2 player mode!
Even though this funky space doesn't house a toilet (for those wanting to spend an emergency penny), its only a short hop skip and a jump back to the lodge itself. On sunny days (fingers crossed), expansive patio doors can be opened up onto a generous decked area complete with garden bench and table. For those guests just wanting to hide away from the world outside - close the blackout curtains and the projector will do the rest! The Air Con system will also keep you warm (or cool), depending on the elements!
The Hub could also be the answer you're looking for in order to maximise sleeping space.

My family and I had a wonderful few days at Sunridge lodge. The converted barn is beautiful, full of high quality furnishings and a TV in every room. The Hub is something else, a real wow factor, we spent every evening here, watching films, playing the arcade games, with a dip in the hot tub inbetween. The surrounds are peaceful, with stunning scenery and perfect relaxing break.
Damian was brilliant in answering my many questions, and was always quick in getting back to me. Thanks Damian, we will be returning for sure!

Amazing weekend away for Valentine’s Day!
Had a really good experience at Sunridge with Damian. We stayed in the cube which was definitely worth the cost especially with all the benefits that came with it and the luxury hot tub. Damian was happy to answer the many questions I had even whilst we were there! Would definitely recommend for a nice weekend away, will be back in future!

If you're looking for a quiet getaway, great facilities and local places which make it the place to be. Damian was a great host, along with fantastic communication throughout it all. Not one bad word to be said or thought. This will be a returning holiday for sure. There is not enough words to compliment.

A wonderful weekend away with family
We had a fantastic family weekend at a beautiful place the country, with fantastic hosts. Would highly recommend Sunridge for as a brilliant retreat.

Amazing
We booked here after cancelling Ibiza and I have to say as a family we travel a lot and Sunridge lodge has been a total sanctuary.
Luxurious with every single detail thought of. The lodge is beautiful inside and out and beautiful decor. It was amazing to pull down the projector screen and watch a film. We also added the hub and it’s a perfect for older kids as the have a huge projector ( cinema size ) and a gym and we hardly saw the boys. Perfect !!!!
We had 2 bbqs one gas and one charcoal. We had two lovely dinners out at the Rose & Crown and the Ship Inn both were outstanding.
I have to say our best nights were at the lodge. Lounging in the hot tub and relaxing in the lodge.
It’s really made me reconsider if we ever have to go abroad again I would love to come back here twice a year.
If you are thinking of a luxury lodge with everything you can think of, stay here !!
The managers on site are lovely and I’m the biggest fan of Damian the owner who answered all my ridiculous questions from London.
We are so sad to leave here tomorrow. Don’t hesitate in booking ( if you can )
Our best holiday ever without a doubt.

SURROUNDING SUNRIDGE LODGE:
The South Hams is England's most outstanding area of beauty and you could be in the heart of it!
Minutes away from Sunridge Lodge, you will come across beaches to die for. In winter, spring or summer, many beaches remain deserted and unspoilt and are so beautiful, they are often used for film sets. Mothercombe Beach, just five minutes away from Sunridge, was used as a location for Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, as was nearby Saltram House, a huge Georgian period property, once the largest country seat in Devon. On your doorstep there are miles and miles of country trails along the River Erme and the dramatic south west coast path offers scenery that is literally breathtaking.

Location:
From London, take the M4, then M5 to Exeter. Continue onto the A38 leaving at the junction to Ugborough & Ermington. Follow signs for the A379 to Yealmpton. One mile before Yealmpton turn right at Dunstone Cross and travel 1 mile to us.
From the North, take the M5 to Bristol and continue on the M5 until the A38 in Devon. Then follow directions as above.
From the South West, drive to Plymouth, take the A379 to Kingsbridge and head towards Elburton/Brixton/Yealmpton. 1 mile after Yealmpton turn left at Dunstone cross and travel 1 mile to us.
Look out for a house that looks like a bungalow. Once you are here you will notice that literally next to the house is a narrow lane/track with a sign - 'Sunridge Retreats'. Start going down that track (only 20 metres) and turn immediately left into the iron gate. Again look for 'Sunridge Retreats' signage.
Follow the field track with the big field and horses to your right and you'll get to the lodge. Parking is facing the lodge and hot tub. This allows the Geodome guests to park on the Chipping's nearer the field.
There is no requirement to ‘check in’ on arrival. We run on a 'just turn up' basis. Keys in key safe so please ask for code nearer your stay.
