Juniper Cottage is a couple of miles off the main road and as along as there’s not snow and ice on the country lane ( as on our visit!) it’s not a problem and actually well worth the beautiful setting that the farmhouse is in....More

About the neighbourhood
The cottages have the best of both worlds - peace and tranquility on private farmland but within easy distance of the bustling towns of Invergordon and Alness. Invergordon has one of the deepest natural harbours in Europe and was used in both World Wars as a safe haven for warships - these days their place has been taken by cruise ships who regularly visit during the Summer months.
You can regularly see deer around the cottages, the osprey likes to help itself to the fish in the lochs nearby and this summer the otters moved into the burn so keep your eyes peeled.
Take a stroll along the lanes, in the summer wild raspberries grow in abundance and in the autumn the trees are heavy with sloe berries
