Causeway Cottage is a delightful Grade II listed property which sleeps six guests, in three well presented bedrooms, with two bathrooms. Dating back to the mid-17th century, the property has an abundance of character features including exposed wooden beams, a stone mullion window, terracotta tiling in the kitchen and two inglenook fireplaces, one of which has a wood burning stove. Built from original Cotswold stone, Causeway Cottage has a beautiful exterior to match its interior, with a wonderful wisteria trailing across the porch and living room windows, and dormer windows on the first floor which offer lovely views across the garden. The enchanting garden is an excellent spot to socialise with friends and family in the warmer months and there is off-street parking for up to three cars on the gravel driveway. House Rules Security deposits A security deposit of £150 is payable, which is returned after the letting period, subject to an inspection of the property. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival. In the event that the owners, or their appointed housekeepers, have to spend additional time tidying up after your departure, then the cost of this extra time may be deducted from your security deposit. Occupancy The maximum occupancy of the property is six guests, at any point during your stay. Unauthorised over occupancy is a breach of our terms and conditions and may result in the cancellation of your booking and additional charges. Please consult us prior to booking if you wish to discuss the possibility of having more than six guests at the property. Pets Regrettably, pets are not accepted. Bed linen and towels Bed linen and towels are provided for guests. Arrival and departure times Arrival time is after 4pm and departure time is by 10am. Access is via a key safe, therefore it does not matter if you are arriving late at night. Bed sizes and configurations Master bedroom: Super king size bed Bedroom 2: King size bed Bedroom 3: 2 x single beds Bathrooms Master bedroom ensuite: Bath with overhead rain shower, toilet and wash basin Family bathroom: Walk-in rain shower, toilet and wash basin Heating, fuel and logs The property has a gas central heating system. Electricity and gas are included in the rental price. An initial basket of logs is provided for the wood burning stove and further log supplies can be purchased locally. Services provided The property has free wireless internet access, a Smart TV and a DVD player. There is no telephone at the property. Mobile phone reception is generally OK. Parking There is off-street parking for up to three cars on the gravel driveway. Housekeeping Where a letting exceeds nine nights, a mid-stay clean, bed linen and towel change may be included in the price. Please check with us to confirm. Additional housekeeping services may be available on request. Child friendly facilities Regrettably, Causeway Cottage does not accept children under the age of six. Initial consumables A small quantity of initial consumables is provided for your convenience (eg. tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, soap, washing powder, toilet rolls etc), however, you should not expect the quantity of these provisions to be sufficient for the duration of your stay. Accessibility, health and safety This is an old, Grade II listed property and has many character features including a spiral staircase, very uneven floors and low beams, all of which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility, in terms of their general movement and their ability to quickly exit the house in the event of an emergency. The paved patio area in the garden has some loose paving stones. The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk. Smoking No smoking is permitted throughout the property. About the neighbourhood
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone 'wool churches'. The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
