Skye hide - away
A delightful little gem hidden away in rugged Skye. The accommodation was adequate size for a couple and was equipped with a few essential supplies in cupboards such as cooking oil, salt and pepper and the usual condiments. Milk was also left in the fridge as well as lactose free milk which was ideal for us as my partner is lactose free. The log burner stove was a lovely finishing touch which came in handy after being out in harsh weather conditions. The couple who own it were helpful and informative of the surrounding area - the information pack provided covers everything any stranger visiting Skye would find helpful. Can't wait to return.

Outstanding
Outstanding sea view of the bay. It is picture postcard quality. The hosts were extremely helpful to ensure we had everything a self catering could require. Clean and tidy, fully equipped. First time I have used an induction hob. What a super fast heat up time. If you are looking for a room for two, this should make a short list. View from the garden.

Urlaub

just perfect
We spend two wonderful weeks - our honeymoon - in the sweet little cottage from Craig and Tereska. Craig welcomed us at arrival and showed us around. The cottage is small, but very modern and comfortable. The next day Craig showed us from the garden where we are and which way we could go. After telling him about us getting wet feet trying to find the fairy pools he offered us spare wellies for our next trip in that direction (which we didn´t make). It was the perfect holiday, very quiet and beautiful sunsets from the kitchen window.

Wonderful stay!
Absolutely gorgeous little cottage with a beautiful view. Everything seemed brand new and spotless. Fully outfitted kitchen (stock up on food at the Co-op store on your way to Craighaven). The hosts are lovely and have thought of every imaginable detail to make your stay memorable. They provide a binder full of ideas for hikes and things to do and see. We so enjoyed our three days at Craighaven, were sorry to leave, and would go back in a heartbeat.

Great accommodation
Had a great stay, self catering studio well thought out, owners have thought of everything you could need. Fresh milk in fridge for us arriving, Craig gave us some really useful info on where to visit and even, very kindly drove us to the hotel where we had a lovely dinner! The weather was cold but sunny the whole time we were there. Skye is amazing and we will definitely return in the near future.

Fantastic spot in Skye
We loved staying here during our Skye trip. Craig and Tereska were so accommodating and went above and beyond to make us welcome and to make our trip as memorable as possible. The place is brilliant, good location for exploring all of the island and close to Talisker distillery. Really well equipped kitchen, and very comfortable bed. The Bluetooth speakers were an excellent touch. Great views from nearby the accommodation and ample parking space. We would definitely stay here again and would encourage anyone staying on Skye to consider it.

Lovely studio with gorgeous views and lovely hosts!
We had a wonderful stay at Tereska and Craig's place. It is close to the Talisker distillery but a bit off the beaten track, which makes it a lovely and quiet place to stay. They are kind and welcoming hosts, and suggested walks we could take from the property around the area and directed us to a delightful local restaurant. The studio has a beautiful picture window where you can eat dinner and watch the sun set over the sea and islands; the views from their property are absolutely gorgeous. The studio is recently renovated, modern, clean, and well-equipped for self-catering, and there was space for us to park our car. To top it all off, when I accidentally left a favorite shirt behind, Tereska was kind enough to ship it back to me (to the US!). We would absolutely stay here again if we ever come back to the Isle of Skye -- I highly recommend it!

About the neighbourhood
Fiscavaig is in the Minginish peninsula on the Isle of Skye. It is near the heart of the Island, the majestic Cuillin mountain range which boasts 12 of Scotland's Munros. You are never far from Lochs or Mountains (or wildllife) on Skye to the delight of photographers. If climbing a mountain is not on your itinerary there is plenty more to do and see (including more gentle walks) and so much history, just too many things to list here. The nearest village is Carbost and home to the Island's famous Talisker distillery. Craighaven is an ideal central base to explore the North and South of the island in manageable, enjoyable excursions.
Getting around
Skye is a rural area, the main services are in Portree which is approx 20 miles/ 35km. About 30/40 minutes by car. Measuring 1700 km sq it is a large island and with it's characteristic peninsulas and one way tracks it takes time to traverse and we really do recommend that you need a car or driver to make the most of the beautiful scenery there is on offer. With careful planning to get the most out of your trip it is actually the remoteness of this beautiful Island, the flora, fauna, wildlife and serenity that makes it more enjoyable to get away from it all.
