Located in the country village of Lameiros, 4,5 Km from the town of São Vicente the coast and sea, and close to many country walks, tucked away on a side street, this 3 bedroomed traditional stone cottage has been lovingly restored by its owner. Mr. and Mrs. Dinis returned to their island home after working many years abroad in the hotel industry, and take good care of their guests. It is the perfect holiday home in which to experience the local culture, enjoy the countryside and walks, and explore the island. The lounge and open plan kitchen/dining are on the ground floor and lead via french windows to the garden. Lounge with stone walls, seating for 5, cable TV, wi-fi and French doors leading to the garden and front gate. Fully equipped kitchen with 4-ring gas hob, gas oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer and built-in traditional barbecue. Stairs lead to the first floor landing and the Master Bedroom, second double bedroom, single bedroom and family bathroom. Bedroom 1 with double bed Bedroom 2 with double bed Bedroom 3 with a full sized bed that drops down from a wardrobe Bathroom 1 Single washbasin, toilet, shower cabinet Bathroom 2 (outside) Single washbasin, toilet, shower cabinet The garden is to the side and has a covered sitting area and lawn where you can while away the hours or eat alfresco. NOTES ON ACCOMMODATION There is free wi-fi connection on the ground floor. Although not essential as the cottage is in the centre of the village, as in most holiday houses, a hire car is recommended. The advertised prices are based on a 2-person occupancy and supplements apply should additional people join you for any length of time. CLEANING The villa is prepared for your arrival and the final clean is included. A midstay clean is included for stays of 9 nights or more. FURTHER DETAILS There are rural walks all around the Lameiros area. The volcanic caves of São Vicente are 2 Km away. In the village of Lameiros, only a few metres from the Cottage, is a small café and mini-market where you can buy your basics and fresh bread daily. There are two more local bars close by. There are many country walking trails close by. Above Lameiros is the old lime furnaces that in olden times produced this material for construction and whitewashing Madeiran houses. It is now part of the newly created Lime Route that allows visitors to see how the limestone was extracted and turned into lime. The renowned São Vicente volcanic caves are only 2 km away and well worth a visit. The beautifully restored São Vicente pedestrianized town centre, with cafés, restaurants, banks, chemist and other facilities is 4 Km away. A further 500 metres you come to the coast and sea, where you will find a further selection of restaurants and a couple of hotels. Access to the expressway and motorway is only 1 Km away, making this a treat base from which to explore the island's coasts and majestic mountains. An easy 45 minute drive brings you to Funchal, and a further 15 minutes away is the airport. Booking Notes The advertised prices are based on a 2-person occupancy and supplements apply should additional people join you for any length of time. To secure your reservation, a deposit of 30% is required, or the full amount if within 8 weeks or arrival, and the balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival. Very nice hillside house
La maison est située dans un petit village et permet de profiter d'une très belle vue ! La maison est grand et le jardin à disposition est magnifique. Les propriétaires, à proximité immédiate, sont très disponibles et réactifs. La place de stationnement est un peu étroite pour une voiture familiale, mais largement suffisante pour une compacte (catégorie B) ; sinon il est très commode de se garer dans la rue. Mais pas de grasse matinée, l'horloge du clocher commence à sonner les heures à partir de 8h !

Très jolie maison, grande et fonctionnelle.
Très bon accueil ( même si ne parle pas un mot de Francais) ,maison spacieuse et agréable mais souvent dans la brume au vue de son emplacement en montagne.Le côté très agréable est le libre accès au jardin superbe de la propriétaire.

Dinis Country Cottage
A lovely cottage for a relaxing break. Really great facilities, lovely and clean and the most beautiful garden and views. The owners (live next door) were very friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. Good location for local facilities - but you’ll need a car. A great place for a relaxing get away.

C'est le genre de location dont on se souvient longtemps ! Une très belle maison construite récemment et un beau jardinet très bien entretenu par Monsieur Dias. La maison est grande, propre et très bien équipée (nous n'avons manqué de rien, car il y a beaucoup de petits détails qui facilitent la vie). Linda et son mari sont très accueillants et très sympathiques. Le village est très calme mais l'inconvénient est qu'il faut une voiture pour aller à Sao vicente car la maison est sur les hauteurs et la côté est raide ! Il y a un bar-petit commerce juste à côté de la maison mais c'est juste pour de petits compléments. Sao Vicente est au centre d'un cirque montagneux (1000m) et c'est très beau La région est très agréable : beaucoup de départs de ballades, baignades à 5 (Seixal) et 10 km (Porto Moniz), forêts

Beautiful holiday house in wonderful Madeira
Dinis Country Cottage is a beautifully restored house with a lovely garden, located in the middle of a village, Lameiros, in the North of Madeira. Surrounded by green mountains and near the Atlantic Ocean a fantastic starting point to explore the island. Everything we needed was provided in the house by the wonderful owners Maria and Manuel, who were very welcoming and always helpful if in need of something / answering our questions. Booking all went smoothly too, thank you! We had a fantastic time staying in Dinis Country Cottage and loved Madeira. We highly recommend a stay!!!

Best holiday ive had - cant wait to return!
Fernanda and Manual Dinis are friendly and helpful owners that mad the stay very enjoyable. Everything that you need is given - including all utencils and kitchen equipment. The whole accomadation is extremely clean with it being in a beautiful location, close enough to shops and restaurants etc. However it's just a moments away from the scenic and breath taking island views from the tops of the mountain peaks. This was the best holiday our family have been on and we are very excited to return to the Dinis County Cottage. We would recommend anyone who enjoys beautiful views from their bedroom window or even from the patio with a cold drink while relaxing. Perfect for everyone!

Amazing cottage Amazing holiday
beautifully restored cottage in a magical setting all the mod cons and more from our barbecue facilities to sun bathing in our own private garden. We had lovely trips around the the island which we all enjoyed. There is something for everyone to do so much to see. Would like to extend our warmest thanks to manuel and Fernanda the owners who were so helpful and could not do enough for us. We will be back.
